Apart from being a wealthy white woman who lives in a country with a welfare state, with a job most people can't get into, you had nothing left? This is what Upper middle-class English people think is tough.

There's no reason to be an alcoholic when weed is cheaper and better for you lol

Yeah, but it's illegal in the UK and various jobs may test you for it, particularly if you do anything worthwhile or work for a US company who consult for finance.

Only if weed chemically agrees with your system. I tried weed for years and it didnt work for me. Hearing voices, extreme paranoia so weed only works if it agrees with you. My perfect drug was LSD. Go figure!!

I don't drink for the same reason that I don't smoke meth... they are destructive drugs that ruin the lives of people who use them and everyone around them and have absolutely no redeeming benefits. Funnily enough, alcohol is objectively more harmful than meth by every possible measure but people just see one is legal and one isn't and base their habits solely on that.

Yeah, that’s simply and demonstrably untrue. Alcohol is no where near as damaging as meth. Not sure where you got your info but as a doctor I can tell you it’s nonsense

@@adamski320 My information comes from a widely cited study which has formed the basis for progressive drug policies around the world, initially published in The Lancet in 2010, completed by the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs, commissioned by the British government. It can be found here: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/21036393/ If it's demonstrably not true then cite a source. The report demonstrates that alcohol is more addictive and causes more harm to the user and the people around them. Just saying "I'm a doctor" is meaningless, cite actual relevant facts.

@@adamski320 My response keeps getting deleted, presumably because I included the link to my source so you'll need to go to The Lancet and search for it yourself, but my source is the widely cited 2010 study conducted by the Independent Scientific Committee on Drugs conducted for the British government. It was unequivocal in its findings. If you think it's demonstrably untrue then please feel free to cite a more credible source than the one I've listed above. Just saying "I'm a doctor" won't help, as obviously the study was conducted by a panel of reputable doctors and medical professionals.

No one will go to hell because they have same-sex feelings. Just like straight men won’t go to hell because they find women (other than their wife) sexually attractive. But, ANY sex outside of marriage is a sin. Period. Hetero or homo… makes no difference. What does liberal western culture think about that? The Bible tells us that we sin constantly, especially in our minds and hearts. No matter how many wonderful, helpful, kind, unselfish things we do, compared to the holy glory of God, we look and smell like dog crap. No one deserves the pure sinless beauty of Heaven and living with God. Our sins deserve punishment… we deserve to die and to be separated from God. That was the whole point of Jesus, the cross & the resurrection. God knows we are sinners, but loves us anyway. So Jesus basically said “I volunteer to be punished in their place. I will sacrifice myself on the cross to pay the price for their sins. After that, all their sins will be forgiven.” Jesus basically bought our ticket to Heaven. Then he holds that ticket out to us saying “I am who I say I am. I love u. Please accept my free gift to u. Do u trust me?” God wants us to realize that, on our own, we will never make it to Heaven. We are NOT “good enough”. Good deeds don’t cancel out bad ones. We can’t “earn” our way into Heaven. God wants us to acknowledge that we are sinners and NEED his forgiveness. He wants us to be humble and be GRATEFUL for the sacrifice of Jesus. That’s all it takes…. Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior and that ticket to Heaven is yours. That is God’s love. He made it so EASY for everyone to go to Heaven. Just trust in the atoning sacrifice of Jesus. Does he want us to stop sinning? Of course! But he knows we can’t. None of us is perfect. But… we can sin LESS. And the closer our personal relationship is with God, the more we will feel unworthy, yet totally loved, and so grateful, and so indebted…. That it will be easier to sin less…. Because we want to please God… we want him to be proud of us. That’s repentance … making an honest effort to sin less.

Pretty safe to say if you made it 46 years sober, you’ll most likely make it to 47 😂 sobriety is very hard the first few years. Afterwards it just becomes your life.

…correction/ adults didn’t notice that I was being abused. Also in primary school I know they knew something was up. They brought me into the headmistresses office and questioned me but I remember at that age I would clam up and not speak or even answer the questions like as if I went into ‘dumb’ mode. But nothing was investigated or taken any further. But I now see that the saw something wasn’t right at home. 🫶🏽sigh…
