I had this same exact matchup, runes and all last night, I watched this vid to learn how to play better as I started early game like shit. Turns out those tentacles when you're under tower are just as lethal even for this garenchad. Thinking I should go conqueror instead next time and just run her down level 2 with ghost ignite conq?

I really hate laning against Kennan more than any other top laner. Guy might as well be mana-less and stuns every two seconds. I think he is definitely in need of a "how the heck do I deal with this dude" guide. Also, was it Kennan alone that made you go full tank or was it the overall team comp?

I’ve learned from AloisNL that u should always get the first wave as fast as possible vs a ranged toplaner. They will lose prio and lasthit. What do u say about that Sensei? Btw älskar dina videos. Mvh 😊

I think early push with melee champion vs ranged is good if the melee champion isnt super weak lvl 1. Alois plays a lot of Riven which is a decently strong champ lvl 1 that cna both close the gap to the ranged champion as well as push the lane with her AoE Q. Other strong earlygame champions like darius are also able to gain prio earlygame vs ranged champions, with every new lvl up, Darius gains a new strong ability that can be used to bully ranged champions which makes it important for him to gain lvls faster than the opponent. His E hooks + slows, W slows and Q is basically a ranged spell. Weaker champions like Garen, can neither fight the ranged champion (will get kited), or clear the wave fast enough (e is too weak early on) to get the lvl 2 first without tanking too many auto attacks. If you still decide to go for the push and lvl 2 first, you wont gain a new ability that will make you win lane vs a ranged champion (q speed is too short and rest is kinda useless vs ranged). And the last reason I dont think you should push early on vs ranged is, if the enemy gets you decently low and you started pushing the wave, they can start freezing the wave and zone you of xp after not even a minute into the game. If you get zoned from xp earlygame, you are kinda doomed. The only time I would go for lvl 2 first vs ranged is if the enemy is really late too lane and somehow doesnt contest the first melee minions. TLDR: strong champions (darius, riven, volibearetc.) can push vs ranged earlygame if the enemy doesnt contest the minions because they all have important spells that can somehow deal with ranged champions.weak champions on the other hand, cant push early vs ranged (Garen, mundo, malphite etc.) because even if they lvl up, they dont gain a new spell that is strong vs ranged characters. hope this helped a bit :D

I have a hard time laning vs TK as Garen too. Normally I go flash ghost and use ghost to run past his turret and enter into a proxy. Then I go behind his T2. So I can skip the lane pahse

I used to run ghost exhaust once upon a time for ranged matchups. Basically level 6 meant they couldnt ever counterplay me.

Malphite running Arcane Comet is pretty good into ranged, at least in my experience (Emerald and lower). Max Q first, poke them every time Q is up, all in them as soon as you've got Ult and they're low. Works very well against pretty much any ADC since Q + Comet does a lot of damage (relatively) against squishies. Then you can build Tank anyway for mid/late-game or just go full AP.
