So it's okay to honor the Buffalo Soldiers but my ancestors have fought in the Civil War I'm not allowed to even speak about them that makes a whole lot of sense

Deland is a quite little town rich in history. De leon Springs is my family's favorite place to go. Food is delicious in the Sugar Cane Mill. You can have it prepared by cooks if you prefer. Love the little gift shop. And boat tours down the St. Johns River is wonderful. You can also rent Kayaks or paddle boats. They also have a separate area to swim in a spring pool. Lots of picnic areas and play ground and trails to walk around in nature.

I used to listen when WUCF had Knight Rock and there was a guy that went by Lars...Jazz is fine, but I wish they would have kept the college radio in the late evenings. I guess students don't have the bucks to contribute and so went Knight Rock.

I lived in Allendale a neighborhood near the Doc Webb, and his house during Christmas was very well decorated with lights and cars would line up for hours to drive by. Even the city ran special buss through the neighborhood to see the lights. This was the late 1960's and early 1970's.

Thank you so much for this. I just moved to Palmer Ranch in Sarasota, and wanted to know some of the history surrounding it. So fitting that there are many roads named after Bertha and her husband! I’m right next to Honoré Ave, and Potters Park. Thank you sir, such a lovely area for anyone who is thinking of moving here ❤❤❤

@@Florida_RoadTrip I drove by the old location yesterday and it's not there. I typed in Schrader's LC and nothing came up. Do you know exactly where it moved? FYI, I probably have the best Sports Illustrated/sports mag collection there is. I put the collection in a closet 20 years ago, and recently checked on Ebay for the heck of it and that market has EXPLODED! Michael Jordan's 3rd SI, 1st in a Bulls uni, recently sold for 126k! So I'm gonna do some videos revealing my collection, and since St Pete has such a rich baseball history, I'm going to incorporate that into my videos. Curious, do you know if there's one or two key baseball historians in the area who'se brains I could pick? LMK if you'd like to collaborate. Thanks.
