A long time ago when I met John at a show in VA, USA (a state fair, I think? 2005?), he shared a story with me and a couple other people around about his first band (must have been this one) where he was grounded but snuck out to play a show... which turned out to be aired on local TV. He said his parents still never found out. haha
@ErikStone1 Жыл бұрын
Yep, that was this band. I was their bass player. The event was the Mid-South State Fair talent show. It aired on local television. I’m sure someone has a vhs copy somewhere. If I ever get my hands on one, I’ll post it here. 😎

Hello, I'm not sure if you will answer me now, the video is after all for many years, but have you preserved the lyrics to these old demos (especially to The Way It Goes) songs? Due to the sound quality and not being a native speaker, some words are very difficult to hear and understand. These demos really hooked me and I would like to know more about them even if the meaning of these songs... I would be extremely grateful if you would give any information!
@ErikStone13 жыл бұрын
Hi there! I'm not sure if I have a lyric sheet for these songs anymore, but I can look to see. "The Way It Goes" is one of my favorite Seraph songs too. I remember the lyrics being about how life is sometimes "not fair". Some people are born into wealth, and others in poverty. I found an old interview that I did many years ago that you may find interesting about the origin of the band. Спасибо theskilletsizzle.tripod.com/id132.html
@creeppofine3 жыл бұрын
@@ErikStone1 Big thanks for the answer! I really like that interview btw, that gave me some more info about Seraph and Jonh Cooper himself x) And thats sad, that the wiki page of Seraph got deleted,,
@ErikStone13 жыл бұрын
@@creeppofine Yes, I agree about the wiki page. I was one of the authors of that page, and I remember the day they took it down. Basically, they took it down because they felt the band wasn't relevant enough (we weren't famous enough) to have our own wiki page. They do this to save space on the wiki servers. I wonder how that works now that everything is in the cloud.
@timerman523 жыл бұрын
Sounds good, quite pity the band broke apart, but if that didn t happen Skillet wouldn t probably exist.
@ErikStone13 жыл бұрын
John Cooper tried to keep Seraph going for a while, but it just wasn't the same. He then started another band with a few Seraph members called "Funky Dynamo and his big toe" or just "Funky Dynamo" for short. While he was trying to get that going, he was doing a side project with Ken Steorts from the band Urgent Cry, and they called that band Skillet. Skillet got more attention than Funky Dynamo, and the rest is history.
@timerman523 жыл бұрын
