Honest Truth is Cowboys, Vaqueros, etc. are a blend of cultures who learned techniques from each other over time. There are differences in every country you go to, but they all share similarities learned in migrations, battles, wars, and travels. There’s absolutely no way of knowing who started what. Only thing for sure is it changes with every generation. When We try to play the Race Card it only shows our Ignorance, and Jealousy of each other. I should probably have not even tried to bring it up, except Ignorance can be changed thru information. Jesus Christ was the Original Master, Riding a Colt into Bethlehem that had never been ridden. That’s True Horsemanship. Tending Livestock and Riding Horses go back a ways. There’s no way of knowing who started what.

The “California” style of vaquero horsemanship is no other than the Mexican style of horsemanship whether white people like it or not. If white people like it or not that’s irrelevant, they can cry about it and say whatever lie or misinformation they want. After all saying a lie many times does not make it become true it would just be a repeated lie. Every time there is a white man saying the “California style of horsemanship or vaquero” is just a person that is still bitter and sour, has not matured enough to say the truth and recognize that in fact it is the Mexican style of horsemanship and cattle handling ways. But until the truth is being recognized and things are acknowledged and credit is given to where it is due there would be people calling out what is not correct.

These training techniques did not develop in California. They developed in central Mexico. From there they spread to all Mexico not just California which was part of Spain and Mexico.
@alejandrosanchez6683Ай бұрын
The truth has been told This wrongly called “California vaquero way” are not Californian, they are Mexican. It is absurd to say they are Californian when the horsemanship and cattle handling techniques moved up north from Mexico, they are Mexican in fact. To say they are Californian is so absurd like to say that number 4 is before number 1. These same “California” techniques are used in the state of Jalisco and many other states in Mexico, far from Alta California.

This style came from Spain originally
@vaquero7x11 күн бұрын
@@NB-sy5gb no, that is an assumption. Spaniards brought cattle and horses yes, but the techniques used are different.

@vaquero7x you're wrong
@vaquero7x10 күн бұрын
@@NB-sy5gb no, I have been to Spain and I have friends who build Spanish saddles and the saddles are very different than saddles of Mexico . The saddles that were brought from Spain to Mexico had to be modified because new techniques were invented. The head ( erroneously called horn) of the saddle was invented in central Mexico to hold the long reatas. The long Spanish garrocha (pole) was not good enough to handle cattle. Team roping was invented, bull riding, bull tailing etc. All this is perfectly documented.

Love the video. First time seeing your channel. I've been watching knot-tying videos lately and one thing I noticed here is that you are taking the bight and putting it over the top of the rail. All the other bank robber knot videos I've seen they come up from the bottom and then over the top toward the handler. Idk if it makes a difference in how the knot works, but it's easier to see how the knot is tied when you do that. 😀

I think it’s a good idea to get a little more experience. You could go to a gymkhana play day and watch. You might even set up a course at home or at your stable, and see how your horse handles it. Congratulations on learning to ride. thanks for watching.

At the beginning don't just take off the halter and walk away. With seasoned or older horses, you should still do the same. A lot of times we just take off the halter and walk away, but does it really matter. Good video. Thx

The only thing that stops me from sharing this important video is that he took six minutes to explain what could have been explained in two minutes. Keep in mind, too, that viewers can do replays and can slow the speed. So, repetition is not important.

I lived on University just a few houses up from River Blvd across the street from "Gutter Park." I was only about 5 years old but I remember a fire truck driving down the street and the water was higher than the wheels. There was also a man that was floating down the street with a guitar. My mom tried to throw him a water hose which was the only thing she could find but he was unable to catch it. I always wondered what happened to him.
