In the Tenach, holiness (קָדוֹשׁ, *kadosh*) is primarily associated with G-d and certain objects, places, people, or times that are set apart for a special, sacred purpose. Here are examples of who or what is considered holy in the Tenach: 1. **G-d**: G-d is the ultimate source of holiness and is often referred to as "holy." - **Leviticus 19:2**: "You shall be holy, for I, the Lord your G-d, am holy." 2. **The Sabbath**: The seventh day, the Sabbath, is holy, set apart from other days. - **Genesis 2:3**: "G-d blessed the seventh day and sanctified it." 3. **The Land of Israel**: The land promised to the Israelites is often regarded as holy. - **Zechariah 2:12**: "The Lord will inherit Judah as His portion in the holy land and will again choose Jerusalem." 4. **The Temple and its objects**: The Temple (and previously the Tabernacle) and its furnishings were consecrated as holy. - **Exodus 40:9**: "You shall take the anointing oil and anoint the Tabernacle and all that is in it, and you shall consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it shall be holy." 5. **The Priests**: The priests (descendants of Aaron) are holy because they are set apart for service to G-d. - **Exodus 28:41**: "And you shall anoint them and ordain them and consecrate them, that they may serve me as priests." 6. **The People of Israel**: The entire nation of Israel is considered a holy people, chosen by G-d to serve a special purpose. - **Deuteronomy 7:6**: "For you are a people holy to the Lord your G-d. The Lord your G-d has chosen you to be His treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth." Holiness in the Tenach signifies being set apart for a divine purpose, reflecting the sacred nature of G-d and the things, times, or people connected to His service.

You are a liar and a deceiver......a false prophet (teacher) . To "overcome" means to "conquer"......the Greek word "nikea" means to "conquer" . We are to overcome or conquer this "world" as He did.......John 16:33 . The "world" ( Greek = kosmon = cosmos = universe = physical creation ) is this physicality that causes our "carnal minds" or our "flesh" that deceives us . "That old serpent called the devil and Satan ( man's own carnal mind ) that DECEIVES the whole world." ( Revelation 12:9 )
@TheWhyisthatso5 ай бұрын
"he" ( Greek = THE ONE ) who overcomes (conquers) ".......this means ONE person . Jesus writes His "new name" on this ONE person that only this one person knows.......Revelation 2:17 and 3:12 . Then in Revelation 19:12.....we see this ONE person coming in judgement...... "and he had a name written that only he himself knows" This one person is the "Lamb" in Revelation........NOT Jesus .

1 Corinthians 15:1-11 The Fact of The Resurrection Facts of The Gospel Paul said, I have made known to you. He was making known what was the Gospel. He did it by preaching (gossiping) the gospel. When the people knew , they received it, (took it for themselves), and as a result, they stand in their present position of the gospel. They died with Christ, were buried with Christ and were raised with Christ which IS THE GOSPEL. Paul said, he delivered what he received. That is still the way, we come to know what is ours through (In) the gospel and we share it with others. Christ Himself revealed it to Paul, Christ Himself reveals the gospel to you through the Holy Spirit and then you deliver what already is - to others. Folks, this is the GOOD NEWS

Do you think that what Jesus did to the fig tree has some symbolic meaning with the Tree of knowledge of good and evil? Some think knowledge tree was a fig tree. They hid in "the tree" and clothed themselves with fig leaves. It would make sense if they clothed their shame in the "trying tree" leaves. Maybe it also was Jesus symbolically withering the tree of knowledge of G & E? What do you think?
@DeepSouthern_Outdoors Жыл бұрын
@tsx3214 I can't remember the source, but I heard one theologian say it can also be translated "hid in the tree".
@cfsnyder Жыл бұрын
No on it being a fig tree. There is no scriptural evidence on that. The knowledge of good and evil tree, in some ways yes. That is what religion is, law. Relationship with Christ is life, the Jesus tree. The opposite of religion.
