Good job. Never thought about leaving 1st side attached to make 2nd side easier to cut. Great idea

Nice job. People lose soo much meat on reds because the say it's a hard fish to clean. I actually just like to use a heavier knife with a rounded blade to get through the scales but I could see serrated being a good option.

What is the cause for the blue tint on the fins? I have heard it is because they ingest blue crabs, is this true?

I think its blue water candy (local maker) also tsunami has the Christmas tree grub. Eastern outfitters had both of them next to each other on the rack when I went.

If you put an 8 inch wire just above gig collar using 12 ga. Wire wrapped 3 or 4 times around pole then with plyers twist the two wires together until the twist is tight on pole and cut twisted wire at half the length of size limit. Line up end of wire with tail. If more than half the fish is in front of gig head, move up and gig it.

Thanks for your tips. I’m definitely trying to improve on topwater fishing this year. Do you have a fav topwater bait? How long into the day do you fish on top? How about fav colors for reds? One more question... which topwater do you prefer on a windy day? Thanks brother!!
