Michael reminded Chris of himself that's why he took a liking to him, you can tell that from how he killed his stepfather

11:07 one of my favorite scenes with Marlo and Chris. Marlo nodding his head when the dude tells him they’re gonna knock that whole corner off but Chris intervenes with a subtle scratch on his neck implying it’s not the right move. Couldn’t believe Marlo actually listened

Ever see Chris as a tech nerd on Fringe? It's hilarious, half of The Wire cast seemed to have been on there at least once,4 or 5 say.

My favorite character. "You can look em in the eye now. Don't matter who he is or what he done, you look him right in the eye." is my favorite line in the whole show. Between that line and how he handles Mike's cheomo stepfather tells you what you need to know about Chris. sadly I can relate

I've always found this to be one of the most iconic things in all of sports history. And it's something I'm now using for motivation to help me through the biggest curveball I've ever been thrown in life. I recently had a glioblastoma brain tumor removed. Which is not good. I am a very driven person that's Taken on many physical challenges over my life. But this is my biggest challenge to date. And I've been telling everyone including myself that I'm going to fight this with every ounce of energy that I have. But I don't know what that means, I mean it's not like I can lace up the gloves and say all right glio let's get in the ring. So periodically throughout the day I find myself taking up a boxer's stance and throwing some jabs hooks and uppercuts and I'm imagining standing before me that I'm squaring off against is my arch nemesis. Which it's safe to say what I'm dealing with is . But just tonight I added a variation to it. In my best Howard cosell voice I'll shout out instead of down goes Frazier! I shout down goes glio! And man that really pumps me up.

The irony is that Carcetti hates Rawls and prefers Daniels, and he can't wait to get rid of him. In the final montage, Carcetti can barely look Rawls in the eye when congratulating him on becoming Superintendent. He’s forced to carry Rawls with him, despite knowing that Rawls is emblematic of everything he despises about the toxic politics in police bureaucracy. Carcetti's downfall is essentially his struggle with the compromises he makes to maintain his political aspirations, even as he sacrifices his principles, becoming just another typical politician in the system

Great analysis, though it's funny, I had a different take watching that same ending scene with Carcetti and Rawls. Rawls is laser-focused on Carcetti during their handshake, but Carcetti's eyes immediately drift over the crowd of photographers capturing the spectacle. It felt to me like the coda of Carcetti's transformation from well-meaning public servant to glamour-hound obsessed with his own image and influence. He takes his eye willingly off the metaphorical ball, having forsaken every tenet of his political faith. I do like the interpretation of him finding Rawls' constant scheming so noxious that he literally can't look at him, though. Steintorf really was the devil on Carcetti's shoulder, and a very successful one at that...

Marlo didn't have to put a hit on Michael. He looked him in the eyes and Chris did the same. Chris could've made a stand against Marlo. I believe Marlo would've respected the call.

Marlo getting pissed in prison when learning that Omar had put it out on the street that Marlo was hiding is pretty much the only time in the whole series where he loses control of his emotions. Almost weird hearing his voice change as it does cos it's usually so even toned.
