you need to raise the water level in that tank so the water pump will work. Kinda sounds like it was running on only one cylinder, but hope I'm wrong about that. Tough to tell when it is in neutral...
@fleetwin1
@fleetwin1 13 күн бұрын
Go ahead and clean up those rusty cylinder walls with some light emery cloth...Not to worry, you can't hurt this engine. Next, I would center the pistons (closing off the ports) and fill each cylinder with some sort of anti rust spray/oil/tranny fluid/whatever.... Let this soak for several days in an effort to free up the rings if they have rusted in place on the pistons.

How do you adjust the Synergy drag link to straighten the steering wheel? I used to do it on the factory one but this one is different. Do you you have to loosen the jam nut on the passenger side as well as the collar nut and bolt to turn the entire thing??
@queble11

@elguapo7722 if I remember right you adjust the ends till its close. Then there should be a adjustment nut then lock it down once wheel is straight. Do remember having to play with it till wheel was straight

I saw you have an HD. D404 are not for Harley’s. I bought a close out tire and wasted my money on a deal without checking figment. Worst season ever. D404’s are for metric cruisers and I am sure they handle like crap on them, too. Stick with D401 tires or the American Elites…they are proven on the road for heavy bikes.

I have a set of D404's on a Kawasaki Voyager 1200. About 6500 kms (4062 miles) and they are pretty much at the tread wear indicators. I'm going to try a set of Pirelli MT66 next, hoping to double that mileage. Lol, can't afford new tires every 7000 km's.

We did the other trick almost forty years ago to inflate my 15:50 X39,5 -16,5 Super Swamper TSLs on a set of 16,5 X12 white modular wheels . We did two things differently , first we sprayed the ether into the bead , across the sidewall , down the tread to the ground and back aways from the tire for safety . Second , we used a clip on tire chuck with one of us crimping the air hose shut until we had ignition . BTW , we may have used too much ether as we got about ten feet of launch out of mine . Scared the hell out of the shop owner , when he heard the first one go up . Impressed everyone else though .

So your death wobble was ball joints. Was it obvious, or did you do process of elimination? I get occasional death wobble too. trying to find why..... We're from Maine too!
@queble11
@queble11 8 ай бұрын
Was process of eliminating causes. The two big times I had it was ball joints and other stuff can wear out if not fixed in time. Check ball joints, front wheel bearing hubs, un bolt track bar and check bushings condition. Check tie rod ends, drag link etc.
