I'm getting ready to buy a friend's 08 z06 with 46k miles. He had a valve dropped at 18k miles. He's in process of getting the valves redone for me so i can buy it. As for now we can here the valves tapping. He said the valves should be checked and redone every 20k miles, wth! I'mnow thinking about not even bothering to buy it now. I figured after they'd been done it's a done deal. Is this true?

I had a bad experience with my 2012 R-spec 5.0. The engine blew after normal changes of oil and I took care of it. I brought it around 120k and thought I can save it but I replaced the engine with the a used 5.0L that had 115k miles and that blew as well . I spent so much money . I was so upset I can’t ever go back to Genesis after that.

i wonder why they replaced those plug wires and msd thing? I would not jack with that. The reason is because I had a 97 LT1 camaro way back in 2005 and I am not sure which event happened first, but I had an optispark replaced and I also installed new plug wires that were Low impedance... You know so maybe I could get a bigger bang and more power right? Well, that assumption is not founded on MATH.. I just did it like everyone else does. Well, it turned out to be a huge mistake. I kept blowing the ignition coil and I could never figure out why. Well, later I pulled the diagrams for the ignition system and actually it is pretty straight forward. I remember thinking that it does not appear to be very complex. (I have an EE degree if that matters).. BUT, my guess is that, since I know a little bit about loading up a circuit and calculating resistance and all that. I figured that when I dropped the impedance of the wires by installing low impedance wires, that it cause a bigger voltage drop over the igntion coil and that little controller mounted on the coil (I forgot what it is called now) So, my point is.. Unless you have done the math, then I would not jack with the ignition system! That stuff is likely balanced and if you change anything, you could be causing problems. The same is true for Honda interior lighting and cabin control systems. where changing out light bulbs for LED's can pop a circuit! Been there doen that. It is because the circuit is balanced, restance wise. For the same reason some cars will rapid flash when you change out an exterior turn signal bulb for an LED. It throws off the resistance and it does weird things. So if I were you, I would put all the electronics back the way it came. After all, you were only suppose to fix the mechanical problem...Why did they change out the wires and that MSD? Maybe GM still had crap ignition systems? Funny I now how a 2005 Acura TL with 135k miles and I NEVER have a problem with the ignition system. I only replaced 1 injector once in 17 years! Honda has good electronics.

The video skip several important steps. There are two nuts you need to remove in addition to the same nuts on the tail lights. Also there is one small bolt you need to remove. These all require a 10mm socket. Be sure to remove both rear tail lights! You will not be able to see two of the yellow guide clips at the bottom of the panel. I just went to Hyundai dealer and ordered two of them (about $5 each P/N 87378-3M000 ) and did not have to worry when they broke.

07 Z06 bought it with 17000 miles back in 2009. Has been driven hard every day, I have broken transmission, torque tube, and differential and had several oil leaks and overheating. And at 70,000 miles later, I installed the edelbrock eforce supercharger, headers, and gears.. 122000 miles now, I have no valve issues yet. Same heads and cam. But every time i high rpm the z, the valve problem is in my mind. I hope Im not jinxing myself right now. I give thank my Lord for protecting my LS7 engine.

Me and my corvette club by directly from Hector. He carries the EOS product line and has his own. Went through him because if there is an issue he rectifies it immediately, great customer service! EOS gave me the run around. Plus Hector recommend using pop rivits.
