I'm very happy to hear that. I'm sure you would enjoy the other bagpipe videos that I have of me playing the bagpipes. I also have one video where I actually play dawning of the day on my mouth blown Scottish smallpipes.

Thanks. As someone on the other side of the pond, I really enjoy the sound of the Scottish bagpipes. I even try to speak with a Scottish accent and some of my other videos. Sometimes they turn out to be a British accent, but it's still pretty cool. You should probably check out some of my other bagpiping videos. Most of my bagpiping videos actually include me playing the great highland bagpipes, which I have been playing for 8 months now. I will now have almost been playing bagpipes for over a year, since now I have a smaller set of bagpipes which are pretty awesome and I enjoy playing them. Even though I don't have a set of great highland bagpipes, I do have a mouth blown set a Scottish smallpipes

Very nice tune! Do you have the sheet music for it?
@lawnsmusicandrollercoaster9233Күн бұрын
I actually do not have the sheet music for the song, however, I can provide a how-to video once I can find my practice chanter. I actually learned most of my bagpipe tunes just by watching or listening to other people play them on the bagpipes or practice chanter. So, I might actually be able to provide a how to play the dawning of the day on bagpipes once I can find my practice chanter.
@m.r.b.806Күн бұрын
That is pretty amazing that you can learn like that. I cannot learn a tune visually like that so please don’t make that video on my account. Do you know how to read music? If not you should really learn. If you have the time or talent to learn tunes by watching people play, you could be a truly great piper if you knew how to read
@lawnsmusicandrollercoaster9233Күн бұрын
Well, having a vision impairment does come with some challenges, therefore I cannot read regular music like most people can. I actually learned most of my bagpipe tunes by ear, meaning I just listen to other people play the bagpipe tunes. And I can follow, basically copying what they play. @@m.r.b.806

I’m sure you answered this another video, but what are the make of those sweet little pipes? You are right the three drones are certainly overpowering the chanter. Also, you’re missing a lot of expression opportunities on cock of the north by playing it so fast … it sounds better slow down a bit with nice snappy rhythm and long hold after those embellishments
@lawnsmusicandrollercoaster92332 күн бұрын
Piper's choice. They are not as expensive as a set of Gibson fireside or Kaylee pipes. Especially the ones that are cocobolo or African blackwood. I do find that the Polly panko pipes are a lot more durable. They are really awesome to play, and they are very cheap but very reliable. What I mean by cheap, if they're not as expensive as a set of cocobolo or African blackwood fireside or Kaylee pipes. Which run you about $1,000. These pipes ran me only $490, and they sound kind of similar to a set of twist trap practice pipes. But they are still one of the best Scottish smallpipes that you can have in your bagpipe arson. They are one of the coolest instruments to even play in a session band, or just a practice your bagpipe tunes on. They are equivalent to a practice chanter in terms of loudness, but if it was possible I could add a border pipe chanter, and get more of a great highland bagpipes sound. I really like the sound of these pipes, even with my middle tenor drone shut off. Just so you know, I have the dawning of the day figured out on the pipes. You should probably go check out that video too.

Ewe with a crooked horn: (Scottish word for sheep)
@neilhorne700010 күн бұрын
Thanks. Actually "ewe" is English for a female sheep. One of the things that makes piping so difficult is there there a completely different tune (not even a strathspey) entitled "the ewie wi' the crooked horn".

@@lawnsmusicandrollercoaster9233 Thank you keep up the good work. Any moisture problems?
@lawnsmusicandrollercoaster923324 күн бұрын
No moisture problems. At the base of the blowpipe is a tube that is attached to the blowpipe. Once in the stock. The tube also goes into the bag when the blow pipe is attached to the bag. When air is blown through the blowpipe, it travels through the tube into the bag. The tube actually takes the air that goes into the blowpipe, and it converts the air into hot air. That is what the tube does. It is probably one of the coolest moisture control systems for mouth blown Scottish smallpipes. Say, you basically have a blow pipe with a tube attached to it. When you blow through the blow pipe, the air travels through the tube and comes out as hot air. Making the bag dry, and it doesn't collect moisture whatsoever.

Sometimes when it is late at night, I still like to make videos, but use the practice chanter instead of the actual bagpipes.
