Beautifully done. The value of the Sacred Ground course is best told by the people who have been touched by it.

Trump photo op at church wasn't why Lafayette Square was cleared. Where are the mea culpas? Democrats can't be for truth only when they're calling out Trump’s lies. Not admitting error amid new evidence debases the truth they claim to revere.

The title of his latest book makes me wonder if he believes his own words. I am a lifelong liberal Democrat Episcopal priest surrounded by other affluent people in an affluent town who tend to vote as I always have. “White Christian Nationalist” seems to be an invective to use against the deplorable people out in them hills who don’t read the Washington Post or listen to NPR. I have met and come to love many of these deplorable so called “Christian Nationalists” but not one of them identifies with this insulting label foisted upon them by people like us.

This sermon begs the question what is a Christian nationalist. I’ve been a committed Christian for the past 45 years. I love our country. And have fought to preserve our freedoms. Does that make me a Christian nationalist? If it does, then that’s what I want to be.
@StephGorz6 ай бұрын
I am also a Christian, love my country, and have fought for freedom - no those feature do not make a Christian Nationalist. A Christian applies the values of Christianity, and does not commit idolatry and covert political power. And a Nationalist is not the same as a patriot.

*** They support abortion with no restrictions whatsoever. Note: They updated their stance on abortion with D083, here is 4 and 5: 4. "Resolved, That the 80th General Convention affirms that all Episcopalians should be able to access abortion services and birth control with no restriction on movement, autonomy, type, or timing; and be it further" 5. "Resolved, That the 80th General Convention understands that the protection of religious liberty extends to all Episcopalians who may need or desire to access, to utilize, to aid others in the procurement of, or to offer abortion services." It is clear, they advocate for abortion WITHOUT ANY RESTRICTIONS. And they even add protection of religious liberty to those who "aid others in the procurement of, or to offer abortion services." In my humble opinion, this is incredibly evil, and I suggest nobody be a member of any organization that supports the killing of babies.

I love this hymn - we sang it at my father’s funeral in 1969. Our organist and choir director always added the initial bass note (E flat) and the alleluias between each verse rather than just at the beginning and end. I know that is not how it is written, but oh my, the addition makes it truly glorious; a powerful statement of utter conviction and raises it above the cadence of a hymn somehow. That extraordinary bass note rang through the church, and the alleluias rose to Heaven itself! Thank you❤
