First think of a name OK Try to keep it the same All day Now go over your lines Relax And get in the character Now open an eye Nice try Put a foot on the floor One more 'Cause we're going live in 5 Four Get in the character I was thinking we could walk on water And still find reasons to swim inside Now I'm worried there's a bigger wave Just behind this one I was thinking there's a bigger wave Just behind this one

Song of the album for me and one of OSI's best. Cold and haunting. The production is gorgeous, and the rhodes' tone is unbelievably clean. Stunning track

Great Art written about domestic violence-

Rick Alexander why do you think it's about domestic violence? I get a very different vibe from it and I'm curious to see your point of view
@mercenaryTendencies4 жыл бұрын
@@yankochoynev652 Not OP, obviously, but mostly the lyrics. '95% happen in the home' (The idea that most violence is domestic is thrown around a fair bit). Hammering the walls - kinda obvious Swallowed by the bed and caught in the phone - what's happening to the sounds of said violence Sleepwalking falls - 'falling' or 'running into things' is often a cover-up for bruises that result from domestic violence
@yankochoynev6524 жыл бұрын
@@mercenaryTendencies makes perfect sense, thanks for making me realise the meaning behind the song. The way I've always interpreted the lyrics was that it was about a person who is stuck and doesn't know what to do with their life hence the: Go on ahead Your story is just where you left it Go on ahead But I still can't believe you can't help it The person has no goals or motivation to do anything productive so they stay in bed all day caught in the phone: "95% happen in the home Swallowed by the bed and caught in the phone " which leads to frustration (Hammering the walls) and problems with the circadian rhythm (and sleepwalking falls) I see it this way, because I've had exactly that experience while listening to this song, and since I haven't experienced domestic violence I couldn't relate it to that at first.
