Hello yesturday just for a little my engine will die I wanted to replace a tensioner cause sometemis it makes noise at cold atart, when I changed it it startes really high rattles, i removed again and it looks like the new tensioner its not stertched its the same as is came, my question is why the new tensioner its not streched do I need to do something before install?

Столько фэйков в ютубе. Не делайте так. Это мембрана клапана отработанных газов стучит и вот вот лопнет и попадос тыщ на 5. А когда он лопнет мотор может начать работать на масле прямо из поддона а там разнос

@@eye_d я перепробовал это на многих om642 и на всех что пробовал крышка прыгает. На моём прыгала с 127к миль и до самого конца 🤣, пришёл он н 258к миль. Купил бу мотор с 97к миль поставил и крышка прыгает. Что получается мотор плохой? Стоит его вернуть и починить старый? Спасибо за прошлый ответ.

The old type of tensioner can suck oil when you do as on video For that reason gets improved with the ball valve with spring. The old type tensioner has a ball valve without the spring that can work two ways.

Hi, what is your opinion on a tensioner manufacturer? Genuine MB is made in Romania, worth $172. INA and Febi are two alternatives, both made in Germany, $70 and $90, respectively. Is there a knowledge by chance who is the OE supplier? Thanks.

This tensioner is not defective You do not have any knowledge of how working. Oil going in under pressure. Inside is a small ball valve with a spring - what you are doing is not much pressure to move the ball and suck the oil - this tensioner is the improved version A6420500311 The ball valve only aloud one way inter the oil in - preventing two ways and stop oscillation harmonic vibrations... When the engine is off for a long time the oil drains from the tensioner and from the oil supply line gallery. Needs a longer time to supply oil to the tensioner. With new improved tensioner, oil stay all the time in the oil supply line When you start the engine the oil getting much faster to the tensioner.

Don't use any oil other than manufacturing specs, more viscous like w40 cause oil overheat because they don't fit canals

When om642 came out the original oil was 5w40 . No changes in motor but change in oil thickness to 0w30 . Why ? Research CAFE standards.

The design of the tensioner isn't to suck oil by itself. A constant oil pressure will feed the tensioner while it's on the engine. The tensioner will not act like a pump,my friend. The other it's already charged with oil. It may be defective but that's not the way how tenisioner works. The real oil pressure pushed into tensioner it's quite high when engine is running.

I have same issue. I purchased brand new chain tensioner, preventative..... Car was worse than before. Everyone say I need new chain...... 1week later I take out new tensioner to check operation........... No hold pressure!!!!!! Now I know why clatter clatter clatter. Replaced with old tensioner. Now smoother but I think my chain is now stretched because eof driving with faulty tensioner

shoukrilla, you've identified the hidden failure point design in the new variable timing chain designs. Once the rattle starts... the soft steel lock pin inside the PHASER has already worn out from the junk TENSIONER leaking pressure and slappy chain. 👍

of course junk tensioner! They had to engineer a way to wear out additional items such as... camshaft journals phaser lock pin and timing chain itself by lack of pressure caused by tensioner leaking any remaining pressure on the passenger side of v6/v8 engines. It's amazing how quickly parts that used to last forever turn into junk these days... too many stupid repairs help recycle recent cars early 🤗

Useless spend of time! The chain tensioner is oil pressurized by engine oil pressure. What you do to check - doesn't make any sense.

he is just using a simple way to help identify which of his 2 tensioners units is promoting low oil pressure thereby helping wear out the expensive intake camshaft phaser. REPLACING passenger TENSIONER AT 75KMi is a simple way to save on rattling phasers (worn out pin made of soft steel). Nice and Easy when done early! 👍
