I don't mind shipping at all but when you take the characters into account and who they are Sherlock and Moriarty's relationship is not at all romantic they are rivals but also respect one another Sherlock sees Moriarty as a match for his mind might I add that he think the same about Irene Adler the thing with Sherlock is that he considers romantic relationships as a waste of time for his brilliant mind his canonically Aromantic Asexul hears a part from A scandal in bohemia: " To Sherlock Holmes she is always the woman. I have seldom heard him mention her under any other name. In his eyes, she eclipses and predominates the whole of her sex. It was not that he felt any emotion akin to love for Irene Adler. All emotions, and that one particularly, were abhorrent to his cold, precise but admirably balanced mind. He was, I take it, the most perfect reasoning and observing machine that the world has seen, but as a lover, he would have placed himself in a false position. He never spoke of the softer passions, save with a gibe and a sneer. They were admirable things for the observer-excellent for drawing the veil from men’s motives" and that's almost a complete explanation of who Sherlock Holmes truly is an observing machine now I know they tweaked a bit his personality but what I said still stands and also takes into account the time period fun fact in the 1800s it was ok to have a friendship between two men that was like lovers as long as they didn't act upon it so to summer up Sherlock is Aro Ace and he does respect Moriarty he may even call him a friend but nothing romantic it please don't at me for stating that whenever I see a show about a character from a mystery book I like I think it's important to take the actual characters to account I enjoyed watching this show but it can bother me at times when the history is ignored that's all I didn't write this essay to fight people I stated my opinion and there's nothing wrong with it
