used to do so much work to do 8-20k in revenue and like 2 in profit, with smart research and sourcing i did 45k this month with 25k profit. just wanted to share for those that are struggling to get up and continue this journey

I had two turns, and the courier charges exceeded the amount I had paid for the items, so I opted not to book a return because it wasn't worth it in the end.

Takealot keeps rejecting my application, what could be the reason?

@@AndileGabuza-g5m usually it’s because your product offers are not unique enough or already saturated on Takealot already. The other reason may be the way you presented it, as in if you showed them a brochure and pictures, etc.

@@AndileGabuza-g5m amazing. Spend some time and do research first to make sure they’re not on takealot (oversaturated) and you can make a brochure on Canva.com with a free template. Put in prices etc.

Wonderful video! significantly helped in my understanding of the packaging concept. It would be incredibly helpful if you could make a video in which you essentially outline the necessities you will need after you are approved to sell on Takealot.

I would definitely recommend to start on the side for several reasons: 1. No pressure. If you’re relying on it as your main income stream, you might feel pressured and make some silly moves costing you money and frustration. 2. Can start small. Similar to above. But it means you can test small quantities of units and just get used to the system and flow of everything. 3. You can do it properly. But learning slow and steady you can form good habits, take more time to source quality items and overall add some money to assist your salary.

@ my main plan is to sell hand crafted products that is cheap quick and easy to make Ive check the trends and seems these products do sell and ive seen is also seasonal As I have the means to do this while I work full time Do you have opinion on this idea maybe

It’s unique and well worth a try! Most people are just going for the generic cheap Chinese goods and competing for the lowest price. You can really push that they’re local, hand made, and share the brand story, etc.

Been at it for just over 4 months now, 101 items sold with about 12 returns in total. Doing ok, disbursements are coming through weekly 🙂. Trying to push more product, keep operational costs down and push more profit. Thanks for the informative and helpful content!

@@gjtuber_1 the only concern may be that your return rate currently is 12%. That’s very high and costly. Try see if maybe there’s insufficient information on your listing, not enough pictures or details etc that may be leading to people returning it OR if it’s a quality issue. Just so that you can reduce that.

@@Romero_Meyer returns are horrible! Can really put you off at times especially learning how bias TA are towards the buyers. Iv actually given up on trying to dispute. You are exactly on point with descriptions and detail being updated more so when there is feedback from buyer on the return that's helpful. Also something iv done now is package my items in such a manner that even though its a return its still sellable stock and can be listed again immediately instead of having to collect from DC's.

Hey, I wanted to ask a question about courier guy, you see I want to send 6 items ( 50 cm×20 cm×10 cm) and the issue im havin is if i put it as 6 different Parcels it gives me quote of R136, but when I calculate the dimensions if I just buy a BIG box and stuff all the items in there, I put the one Big box as 1 parcel and it gives me a ridiculously expensive quote way above R500

Just put the dimensions of the 1 item ,u said it's R136 right? Then add all the items in 1 box. What I have realized about courier guy is that they don't really weigh a box.

@@Jaythecook No u see i am selling amplifiers, so when i wna send 6 of them I put each amplifier as a different parcel, so 6 bulk parcels ( 6 items ), now when I just put the option for 1 parcel and i put all 6 amps in that 1 parcel(box), it gives expensive

Because when i choose bulk parcels each parcels(box) dimensions end up being eg. 20X20X20, however when i put it in 1 Huge parcel the dimensions of the huge box ends up at around 100X100X10

Now what im not understanding is wether i give them the Huge parcel/box wit all 6 amps inside or pack each amp in its own parcel/box, the price should be the same because the space is gna be around the same. So now why are there so big discrepancies in the prices

Thanks Romero.. coming from a dad of a 1 year old, husband and a full time employee. I could not relate more to this video. Been extremely tough finding the time to develop and grow my small business. I have so many ideas and concepts I want to make happen but just don't have the time. And then the added stress of finances. I started my business to try and alleviate my financial difficulties. It's been helping but hasn't gotten to a point where I can actually invest back into the business and grow it. Been a real struggle and hearing that someone who has your success in the game also faces this. Helps. Thanks a bunch for the great content and videos. I hope it goes from strength to strength.

I was just thinking about this the other day.. all the other content creators are like "wow, I made so much", meanwhile it's only revenue and not the actual profit you made. even the money that takealot pays you doesn't factor in the cost of the products..
