@seanscollection thanks I'll try and dial it up a bit. Have a couple queued up so not sure if I can fix those. Was worried that's it'd come through too loud (sounds loud on my pc and was already red lining in spots) 61 boxes and only 18 different unqiue foils that's some bad luck and/or bad collation unless you got multiple foil 4 waters and rings! Yeah EC dropped the ball on AL, the cost vs ev is really bad, if I hadn't hit that Curio a few boxes back i think my mood would be a lot different. I'll keep going for a bit hoping I can hit so of those big foil uniques And Happy New Year...only about 40 mins to go!

@@grendelsgallery You are only supposed to get 1 true unique foil every 3 boxes. I've found 21, 3 of which were duplicates so I've done ok. Best unique foil was Merlin but I haven't found a foil Ring or Four Waters yet. I did find a single guilded foil and was very lucky to find 3 different squire curios, all of which graded at a 9 with PCG. I think the curios can be clumped since I've been told they are every 75 boxes from someone who opened 700 boxes. 11.5 hrs to go here in the UK! :D

@seanscollection you've done well on the curios then!! One in three....probably but tell that to my last case that had zero 😅. Heard someone got 10 in a AL case (all true uniques) recently

@@grendelsgallery Out of 61 boxes, only 1 had 2 true unique foils. I haven't seen any boxes opened on KZbin with more than 1 true unique foil. Unlike Alpha and first wave Beta, I think EC has made it almost impossible to get more than 1 foil unique in a single box. However, I have also opened a case with no unique foils so a case definitely doesn't guarantee any hits. I stopped buying cases after that. Now i buy 2 or 3 at a time from different online sellers.

@seanscollection coldfoilheroes got a 4 foil unqiue hit box and then in the same case the same 4 hits in another box (plus 2 more singles to make 10). I think even getting 3 is super lucky in AL!

@seanscollection Darn that sounds rough when compared to Beta. Maybe this is just the new 'norm' 🥲

@@grendelsgallery Its actually the same odds as Beta when you count packs (1 in 2 beta boxes which were 36 packs, 1 in 3 AL boxes which are 24 packs). However true unique pulls are down from 14-16 uniques in 2 beta boxes, to 12-15 uniques in 3 AL boxes. Although I think the real issue is there is less highly desirable cards in AL, Beta had the cores and stone, while AL has Ring, Four Waters, and maybe Amulet. And obviously the price is up as well.

@@seanscollection but with Beta also, there seemed to be outlier boxes (even cases) where you'd get more unique foils - which helped balance out the rough boxes when cracking en masse. I not seeing/hearing that happen in AL

@swimdog yeah collecting tcgs is EXPENSIVE sold a few key pieces to fund this lot. Yeah a foil waters would have been nice!!! But if i sent you a box it would bound to be in there 😅

@nightfingerzramone1006 oooh tough one....well maybe not 😅. Can't keep anything sealed anymore (had too many god boxes on my shelf over the years) but Alpha is a rush to open...sooo much fun (but also good to keep sealed IF you can)

@ That’s what I’m weighing up…a bunch of boxes of AL or 1 box of alpha (if i can get one cheap). I have a terrible time keeping alpha sealed though. Beta didnt do it for me i must say

@nightfingerzramone1006 Hit rates on AL seem to be a lot worse than Alpha/Beta...but if Alpha is still trending $1k per box there's very few hits to 'break even'. Sounds like it'll be a personal decision, go big for potential big rewards (and low print run cards) but just a single box or spread wide for new playable cards Personally I could never just do one box, over too quick and disappointing if not a good box the urge would be there to crack another. So I'd go quantity in that case...but it's a tough call

@@grendelsgallery You might be right on that. I've only preordered 2 boxes of AL so far but plan to order another 10 before release date. However, i will spread purchases around to avoid clumping.

@Coyote1911 yes there are starter decks and they're very cheap relatively speaking but you local LGS should have them. Booster Boxes/packs can be a little tough to find, but there's plenty of singles out there. A lot of good decks out there don't need expensive cards
