This is pure propaganda, plain and simple. This is absolutely misleading twisting the information around to make the agricultural industries te heroes when in fact they are directly responsible for the degradation of land, decline of wildlife, ecosystems and the growing pollution.

But CAFOs ARE the "sustainable option". Meat being affordable is all due to government subsidies. These are foods of affluence. Imho, humans need to seriously reevaluate what affluent should mean to the collective.

IF THEY EAT A STANDARD AMERICAN DIET, then future food panic makes sense. But its factually not the only option rendering their use if the word "need" here as usless as it is convenient. In a study conducted by researchers from the Institute on the Environment and the University of Minnesota, scientists investigated agricultural resources and the problem of world hunger. It was found that if humans consumed the crops instead of feeding them to animals, the world supply would be enriched by approximately 70 percent more food, which would adequately support another 4 billion people. The surplus alone would be sufficient to feed more than half the Earth’s population, many times more than the 925 million hungry people of our time.

SO regenerate that soil which can easily be done if the farmers are willing. You can easily turn pasture land into farm land with a few simple techniques. Look into soil regeneration whoevers reading this.

An entirely disingenuous, misleading piece loaded with weasel words like "who can you trust?" And with its core agrument based around grassfed beef. They know damn well that ovwr 90% of ALL MEAT comes from factory farms - fed mostly corn and a steady diet of drugs and hormones. Way to rely on others' ignorance though.

Funny how 60 billion animals breed for food never go hungry or thirsty and yet there are still millions of people going hungry and thirsty because of animal farming. We will not be able to sustain 9 billion living this way if we can't even support 7 billion. The numbers don't lie living this way is destroying the planet and the farming industry would rather the planet die then give up there billion dollar empire that by the way kills more people through disease.

this is a great discussion to help people better understand the issues behind labeling food products
