Yes, absolutely. When you first run the accumulator, you will back off some of the tension in the bale chamber and that will make up the difference. Your plunger will not have any more pressure than normal. You are using excess energy to push the bales up the chute and from there, gravity takes over.

Great question! We actually have a 205 Specialty Grabber made for 4-5 bales. We find that most farmers use an EGF8 Grabber like the one in the video because it picks up 8 bales to fill up a wagon width. www.nordenmfg.com/specialty-grabbers/205-specialty-grabber/

The end product is close to the same but the extra pass over the entire field required by that type of machine is not the same. The Norden Accumulator also carries the bales so there is far less potential for damage to the hay. We do have a small 4 bale accumulator that is quite a bit cheaper than the larger models. We sell it with an 8 bale grapple so you move 8 bales at a time.
