Definitely for wealthy kids of that time and not for the average kid. My parents did not have anything like this.

Great video Ed. You even took pictures of my tables. Thank you. Just a great show. We need to push for a second show. If Allentown can have two paper shows it can have two toy shows. Chicago has been doing it for years. All the Best, Dave Zurick

Frankly I think it might’ve been too expensive. I think it would’ve been an absolute legend but the price point would’ve been about $80 when Optimus prime was 21

Small correction, the two levers are not for steering, they are : forward/reverse and stop/go. I have all these toys for sale, including the famous radio 6 wheel car.

I had all the Bandai/Godaikin robots. I started collecting them in '82, a couple years before Voltron hit the airwaves and the marketed robots hit toy store shelves. In fact, I had to go to Little Tokyo in L.A. or Sawtelle in West L.A. to collect them. They didn't care them in big chain toy stores like KB Toys, Karl's or Toys R' Us. Not until Voltron came along. But I knew them as Godaikin/Bandai Robots. Two reasons Tetsujin is the rarest of this line is because, yes, it was more expensive to produce, requirement more metal, a full head or taller than the other robots and didn't carry over to the Voltron show which focused more on the detachable models. Tetsujin was the last Voltron I purchased when, by luck, they had it on hand at a small toy store close to by house when I was nine. It was one hell of a chunk of heavy metal.

@@AntiqueToys They are all nice. it depends on the warping. If they arenot bad $100 + on the olds. I belive its made by Cruver. They made I.D.models for the military during WWII.
