Although overlooked, perhaps by the big names like Wurlitzer and moller, the Compton was a fine maker of organs for theatre and even churches ! Some of their pipe work may even eclipse Wurlitzer? But this is a fine example of their brand and sounds great ,there maybe even Wurlitzer pipe work lurking away in there, too? But Phil always gets the sound just right out of any organ in his charge! I worked for a guy many, many moons ago, who was an organ builder restorer and he always said Compton built the worlds best cinema organ! The one I used to hear on holiday in Plymouth was definitely at the top of my favourite instruments !

Probably the most beautiful song I've heard, it's hard to believe that is not a real orchestra! I'm trying to learn it on my Lowrey Holiday organ.

A Wurlitzer it's not, but the arrangement and musicianship make up for it.

Thanks John, excellent musical mixed with comedy, where I was born the town was blssed with two cinemas each with whurlitzer organs, I remember the name of the organist at the Regent cinema, Harold Flatman, he also like you would have little comedy chat, but for me the best was Saturday mornings which was children only. I am 86 and still enjoy listening to organ music.

Hi Kevin. At the start of Robert's program, the side panels were 'illuminated' in deep blue and looked fabulous! Unfortunately it only remained like that briefly. I think it would be great to create that 'jelly mould' effect more often, and project a kaleidoscope of colours on the 'neutral' console! Excellent playing by Robert as always.

Hi Brian. The console was illuminated in blue at the beginning of this video as it seemed appropriate for the song ‘Serenade in Blue’. Perhaps we could make more use of the coloured lighting in the future. Thanks for your comment, it’s always good to have feedback and suggestions! - Declan
