It wasn't about herself though. Mark was confused because of his sickness. He sometimes messed up words. Yes it was because of surgery.

@@klaudiagrob She at least professionally owed Mark a heads up that she felt his status necessitated calling the state board (or whatever it was she did to cause the initial fight in this video) before doing so. There was no need to blindside him.

Wow. Of course people hate people like that. if someone is a boss they should only make popular decisions. Mark was after surgery he was messing up words in the middle of the trauma. So Kerry had to do something about it. She didn't want to bully Mark. She did take his illness and death hard. In fact both were right. Kerry was worried about patients

I loved her BECAUSE she was the one NOT SCARED to make the hard choices.

Corday was acting off pure emotion. Kerry was dealing with reality.

The point wasn't to bully Mark. The fact was that Mark was sick and yes he was getting confused.

None of you people understand why Kerry did it. Come on in the middle of the trauma everyone must know what they are saying. Mark had surgery and yes he was recovering. But Kerry was concerned. It wasn't about bullying.

Actually, that would have been Doug Ross. He was more than willing to stand up to her every time and pretty much did things his way, which brought her wrath down upon him.

Tough Taurus According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, "kowtowed" is similar to "flattered" "worshipped" or "idolized." It doesn't look like it has anything to do with butting in. But IIRC, Kerry was acting as Chief of Staff. I don't know if that was official or her choice, but if it was official, then she was right to question Elizabeth about her attitude. I watched it twice, and Elizabeth was rude in the trauma. And actually, even as Chief of the ER, Kerry was right to say something because the situation occurred in the ER.

Weaver was taking hormones to become pregnant around this time I believe so this may have caused her to be more upset than normal due to hormones, and I think they are all surrounding the same patient but don't quote me as I'm not 100% sure

Sounds about right. I still liked the character though as time went on.

"To be kow-towed to at every opportunity"; what Tish Lynn said -- Dr Weaver was asserting an authority she didn't have over a doctor with equal or higher status. I believe Dr Corday was at the same work level as Weaver in the second scene.

I don't give out personal details online. I will say that Corday reminds me of a few people I know.

In this instance tho, Weaver was completely out of line. She was basically gaslighting Corday with the ‘Copping an attitude with me and my staff’ when it was purely Weaver herself that Corday has a disagreement with. Plus the condescending ‘aren’t you taking too much on your plate’ all while completely ignoring anything that Corday said.

@@omegastar19 Dr. Carter non-verbally indicated he noticed an issue with Dr. Corday - more than one actually - and that was my validation that Dr. Corday was the one who was out of line. Dr. Weaver starting out the discussion with saying Dr. Corday was taking on too much was a professional, respectful way to approach the issue. As it turned out, Dr. Corday had a personal issue with Dr. Weaver and unfortunately the hormones Dr. Weaver was taking cut the conversation short.

Every time Elizabeth called her out, though, it's when she was trying to manipulate her way into dominating over situations that were none of her business and made situations worse, not better.
