Is there a way to unlock the charge port using shortcuts, it’s annoying having to get my phone out to press unlock charge port to take the cable out

Tesla's charge port lock is linked to doors lock. If you unlock doors, charge port will also be unlocked. If you have setup your app as phone-key, you don't need to do anything. As soon as you get close to your vehicle the charge port should be automatically unlocked, just like your vehicle's doors.

Just use the open charge port shortcut. If the cable is in the port and locked in place, using the open charge port shortcut will simply unlock it (as it is already open).

I got 2024.20.9 a couple of days ago and went through the updates, but it's mostly minor improvements. The only major thing that came with 2024.20 in general is Adaptive Headlights for curves which I haven't tested yet

Hello. Years ago I had to use "Key for Tesla" but even still had always problems to work well so I gave up. If now is possible only with Shortcut app then I don't see how. The Tesla commands are not appearing in the Shortcut app in the Apple Watch. I've activated the "Show on Apple Watch" on all Tesla shorcuts created ...and nothing appears there. I've noticed something: the Tesla app isn't on the Apple Watch and is not available to install from Apple Watch App Store. Now the million dollar question is: Do you have the Tesla app on your Apple Watch? If yes....how?? If not then how can your commands go to the Shortcut watch app?? I ask because you need to have the app on the watch for the commands to appear and work. It's a mistery!!!

Thanks for sharing. I ran a test on Tesla's AEBS (automatic emergency braking system) and compared it with Toyota's last year. That time it wasn't really good at detecting objects (video at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZSneGZ8qNtjipY). I need to try it again with version 12 👍

Hi. No mine is a 2023 Model Y with hardware 3. In Tesla investors Q&A happened last week, Elon said FSD 12 and future updates can run on every single Tesla l sold so far regardless of their hardware type!

Great review - for me, the V12 update has been the most significant version update I've experienced since buying my Tesla YLR. What I also love is the new full self parking, including parallel parking. The vehicle will even back in to spaces that I've regulaly parked backend-in. It was all flawless until a couple of nights ago, when I was parking in a garage with lots of open spaces - and about half the cars in the garage had car covers on, therefore making them "invisible" on the software. The AI was flagging those ad open/available parking spaces - when they were not. Thankfully I caught this and was able to halt the parking process on time.

That's an interesting observation about auto park. I did a full video testing the new auto park in different situations (kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGGmdqOsh7Kdo8U) and notices a couple of issues myself. Also some auto park related features are still not active yet, like summon and smart summon.

Thanks for the upload. How tight can the parking spot be? Any insight in the margins left and right it requires? Is Summon (not Smart Summon) restored with this feature? Also, currently Tesla Park assist tells me to stop when the back almost reached the curb, instead of the tires (the bottom can easily clear the curb), will the Tesla stick out of the parking space in this case? Same with bushes, will it back all the way up against a bush?

Hi, thanks for your interest. To answer to your question, based on Tesla's specification, Autopark requires at least 7.2 feet (2.2 meters) wide space for Perpendicular Parking, as long as margins allows Tesla to maneuver in that space but they didn't specify the exact margins. This update only enabled Autopark feature and Summon and Smart Summon are not still available. These features need the Tesla app to operate and still there is no sign of these options in Tesla app. As for your last question, are you describing your experience with new Autopark? The vision based Autopark should take care of stopping and backing up automatically. Ultrasonic park assists usually use the car in front as reference and align themselves with that. If that car is stock out of the parking space, your car would do the same. But with Tesla's vision system, based on my experience, it looks like it actually sees the curb and parking lines, and parks in a safe distance from the curb. I hope this helps.

It's a good timing for getting the new Model 3! FSD 12 is now being rolled out to Tesla's employees for internal testing. Elon said he wants to release it before end of the year but it happened that his prediction didn't come true. But anyways, if you have your car you will receive the FSD update whenever is available. Which version of Tesla mobile app are you running? To find the app version, tap on User avatar in the app at the very top-right. Then scroll all the way down. The current latest version is 4.26.6

Hi. Thanks for the comment and question. The only improvement I noticed in latest version of the app (4.25.6) is that if you have more than one Tesla cars, when setting up the shortcuts you can also select the car. Otherwise it worked in the earlier version

Great test. Can you install fsd 11.4.6 or higher version in your country? I hear from news that Tesla has introduced "automatic emergency braking for general obstacles as detected by their occupancy network in fsd beta 11.4.6. Wanna see if there is any difference, thanks.

Hi, the current version of the Tesla mobile app on iPhone is 4.25.5. If you use iPhone you can go to the App Store and search for Tesla, then you should see the upgrade option. I hope this helps.

That is pretty disappointing especially since this is my main reason for buying a Tesla. I will try this with my 2022 MYLR. I had a 2018 Kia Niro PHEV and it failed miserably, too. I really appreciate your channel and I have subbed.

Thank you for your support. That test result was surprising for me too. I didn’t expect Tesla’s advanced and intelligent vision system fails to detect obstacles. But I’m hoping that it gets fixed once the Tesla vision is complete. I’m going to try the same test with Tesla’s FSD too.

Great job! I didn’t know FSD would work w/o a destination. Makes it much more useful for me, but the $200 monthly subscription is way beyond my budget, I would love to have it just for the increased safety. I am concerned that standard autopilot is apparently not getting upgrades, mine still doesn’t brake for animals and speed is not adjusted when speed limit changes.

Thank you and glad to share some helpful information. The standard autopilot is really designed for highway driving only and as you mentioned it's not perfect, so you need to be always ready to take over. I have another video in which I tested the obstacle detection and emergency braking with and without autopilot, which you can watch at kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZSneGZ8qNtjipY I also agree $200/month is not cheap, but the great thing about subscription model is that, you can only subscribe for when you need it, like when you are traveling and cancel it after, which is how I use it. The only thing I can suggest is to make sure your Tesla software is always up to date. I'm working on new videos with updated version of FSD, and I hope you are already subscribed so I can share it with you when is ready.
