I remember watching this video in high school and thinking about how badly I wanted to attend USNA. Now, as a second semester Firstie, I’m eager to graduate and go out and do the actual job. Thanks for this video-it gave a lot of inspiration to a high schooler that needed it.

No issue Nathalie... I am also way past the "sir" stage, having left active in 1986 and reserves in 1996. My best glee club memories were the LA to Hawaii to San Francisco tour, then singing at the Kennedy Center Honors for Henry Fonda. High school classmates recalled seeing me singing on TV several years later at a reunion. I had never sung before USNA. I did have the benefit of knowing how to read music, playing the trombone in bass clef. The vocal range matched, and I knew the correct notes to sing.

Wendy used to have a blue astronaut poopie suit with the name "Too Short". There were issues with her being too short for a mission that could require an emergency return on the Soyuz capsule.

Have you reached Quantico yet..? Those friendships will continue a lifetime, with greater communication through social networking. Company representatives gathered online regarding questions about our 40th reunion next fall. Our 20th was difficult, following shortly after 9-11. We lost two from our class that day, the only class to do so. One was at the Pentagon, and the other was at a meeting that morning in the World Trade Center.

I currently just graduated high school and I’m gonna go to community college then gonna transfer to a university to do Marine NROTC and become a officer!! This Pandemic did mess up graduation and other events. But anyways I wish you good luck in the future and in the Marine Corps!! Oorah!!

I am glad you had the Semester break Glee Club tour, and got to meet VADM Lawrence's daughter Wendy. She was one of our ('81) class top 100, along with the difficulty of being only the second class with women. I was in Glee club the last two years, along with catholic choir and pep band. It gave Lynn Thomas '83 and I time together in prior to practice meals, then after practice we enjoyed study rooms in Nimitz until 2330. We were in different regiments, and also enjoyed running the perimeter a few times a week. It was such a relief after Herndon to be visible, and to bring her to the Ring Dance. From then on we spent leave time together as well, between respective families in Maine and Michigan.

Keep sharing occasionally as you serve as a Marine Corps officer. Welcome 2LT... Hold your classmates close, particularly with how the semester and graduation ended. I am glad Slapshot (my classmate) was your Superintendent for three of the four years. Our class was molded and nurtured by VADM William P Lawrence as a Superintendent, along with fellow Vietnam Prisoners of War he brought to lecture. Semper Fidelas

I hope that you were, as I was, blessed with a relationship with a fellow midshipman. Some of my classmates were, and have now been married 39 years. I was an idiot and lost the love of my life, instead of waiting for her to graduate in '83. Go Glee Club
