Gonna swing by to pay my invoice Saturday. Sent you a text to update my file the other day. I know one book from that order is back was in the last video but not the other two. You're busy, I know they will show up...I'll check status on your site tonight. See you this weekend!

Awww Kevin, how you gonna poopoo on my ASM 20? 😂 Odd my other 2 books from that submission weren't in this unboxing. Anyhow, I have a funeral this weekend but I'll swing by the shop next saturday and pay you cash money for that order and hopefully my other 2 books are ready then. I'm surprised that book got a 4.0 but when you fanned through at drop off you said "maybe a 4 tops", crazy though the 3 DD books from my last order presented WAY BETTER and got lower grades than the 4, I also need to pick those books up, you've had them for awhile (I did email you about them and my # change but no reply.

Been going to comic cons since 03 but after the last one I went to (Keystone in Philly) I think I'm tapping out. The extreme majority of the dealers there must not assume shoppers do their homework. Losing interest in my Copper-Modern Books and getting more drawn to the Golden Age, especially the Donald Duck Books. I found several but the prices for their raw mid grade copies were literally almost as much as high graded copies from CGC I've seen from heritage auctions! Even several modern books that I wanted were literally double the price than what I saw online. Its to the point where I didn't even want to negotiate with them. I want to give these dealers business and would prefer 1x1 transactions, but these deals need to be somewhat reasonable.

I think the mainstream has a connection with the characters and not the comic books. This means they are happy to see things related to the characters like swag, statues and funkos at these comiccons.The real OG's know where it all comes from and the love will always be there.

There is too many of people selling these little cheap Chinese imported toys, pillows … etc I just want a comic and card show, that’s all … or at least make it a rule when organizing that at least 50% of the vendors are comic and cards VaughanCon was a little bit of a disappointment, not terrible but could have been better

Celeb prices are up there. I wanted to meet Mark Hamill. $400 for a photo, $500 for a sig. So i simply asked my family members if they would chip in on a photo op and consider that my birthday present. Everyone chips in like $20 and there you have it. That's the best idea for anyone wanting to afford a high-priced celeb.

i love cons for the comic artists and celebs I can meet. Get sigs... great merch, all kinds of merch from D&D Dice to comics. I love it. All the cosplayers, the vehicles... There are PLENTY of comic dealers at each one so it's not like comics are phased out in any way. I love how varied cons are. A con with only comics would be boring.

Amen Kevin. The Comic Cons of the early to mid 80s in downtown Toronto were 100% comics. If that was your thing, it was Nirvana. There was always a buzz in the venues, especially if popular artists or writers were there to sign or sketch. You reminded me of one of my fondest memories at a Con. George Perez was the guest of honour at the Ontario College of Art. It was at the height of his popularity with The New Teen Titans work. The hall was absolutely packed. George was great. Nicest guy. Talked non-stop with the fans, signed everything(can't remember if he EVEN charged for the signings), but we were limited to 2 items. He even did a quick sketch if he was asked. The highlight was an auction. George agreed to do a sketch of any superhero character on an actual comic board sheet to the highest bidder(all the money going to charity). So the bidding starts off and it quickly becomes a face-off between two fans. Eventually the bid gets to $300 and the second bidder is hesitant to bet more than that. There's a sudden pause everything goes quiet, I mean dead quiet. Suddenly George shouts out "How about 2 winners, 2 sketches for $300 a piece. It's for charity right?!" Both bidders agree and the hall just erupted in thunderous applause. So there's George sketching away on his two boards, all the while continually talking and interacting with the fans.

PSA Labels are stank. Generic soup can labels are all I see. I like how their cases have UV protection, but both CGC and CBCS have much cooler looking labels and that's all that matters to me as a person that slabs PC books to die with.

Has somebody who dabbles in a little bit of everything sports cards, comics magazines, and VHS without a doubt PSA will take over the magazine and sports illustrated market CGC always seem like an afterthought to them as comics were priority. As far as support from CGC they are awesome. I’ve had to call many times and everybody I’ve ever talked to was kind helpful and knowledgable very professionaland Kevin just thanks again for all your help. 1. Dumb to use a company server to email yourself the details of their particular plan. Dumb. 2. Subgrades wouldn't be so bad, especially if they keep it macro and simple, such as: Front Cover 9.2. Back cover 9.8. Interior 9.8. Spine 9.2.

Based on my personal experience, I've found that CGC grading often falls short. It seems like many slabbed comic books I come across does not meet the grade, even according to their own standards. More often than not, the slabbed graded book is a grade higher than what it should be. This is one of the reasons I no longer use CGC for slabbing my comics.
@SignPost-j8sАй бұрын
I'm pretty sure I know who the "suspect" is Kevin. Years ago I brought some books to his shop to be sent to CGC for grading. After about 8 months and endless calls, they finally came in.... minus two of the keys. They were apparently lost somewhere in the process. We agreed on "compensation." A shame if this is still happening.
