I am sure that is a Gannon 36 inch Earthcavator. I just picked up the 42 inch Cat 0 model identified as model FD-42-2. The 2 identifies it as a Cat 0 with Cat 1 pins,. Model was originally red I believe like yours probably was. Mine's serial number starts with a T. I wonder if yours does too? Maybe the T stood for a certain retailer?

Cool. But the movement of the "orbs" all on the same direction is suspicious. HVAC blowing? I also have a lot of them on my channel. No HVAC, Ceiling fans, door/windows opening. The home is vacant. Nice setup. Do not put much down pressure on the Earthcavator. It is designed to float behind a Garden Tractor. I make my first passes with the teeth to break up the surface. Then I use the box to fill holes and level my driveway off. I left comments in your other post too. I don't know where to get new teeth points. I figured that if I ever need new ones I would have to make them from pieces of old cutting edge and square tubing. Good Luck, Rick

@richardross72194 жыл бұрын
You got an excellent deal. It is usually called an Earthcavator. They were made in sizes from 36" to 72" that I have seen. The small ones were made for most of the good garden tractors in the 1960s and 70s. I have one that is labelled for Allis Chalmers(and Simplicity). It fits right on my Simplicity 3310 and I use it each spring to repair the damage from mud season. If you join www.GardenTractorTalk.com and go to the Manuals Section you can download a sales brochure for the Gannon Earthcavator. You may have to search a bit for it under attachments. It may be in the Bolens section too. Good Luck, Rick

I don't know who made that particular model but those rollover box blades have been around at least since the 40's cuz that's when my dad got his and we really love those. They have been sold under several different brand names including Gannon and I think they are currently being made under dirt dog and Bush hog also makes them. I think that bar going straight up off the frame of that scraper is going to cause you problems cuz it needs stronger reinforcing. As soon as that scraper touches the ground that bar is probably going to Bend or break or come loose. The original had three big solid iron bars going from the frame up to that top link. Later versions move that top ling down lower and used two Big solid piece of iron. That's why I think that square tubing is not going to hold for even two seconds. Go online and look up rollover box blades and you'll see a lot of the older versions and how they were made. And I think there's a couple of videos on here that show the older ones too. I see that yours is easy to roll over by hand but ours was so big and so heavy my dad would just take tension off of that thing while it's on the ground pull the lever and then drive forward or backward to rotate it to the next position and it would click in. it looks like some former owner cut off that top link all together. You'll have to rebuild it from scratch. Maybe cut that square tubing off of there, it's in the way. And you can take off those other bars that go forward from the mainframe those were mounting bars for some lawn tractor or something not needed now. or maybe that particular model was built from scratch at the factory to be used on a lawn tractor.
@2574Ralph4 жыл бұрын
Your were correct, the top bar got a little loose. I can easily weld it and add supports, but I didn't want to mess up the original mounting hardware already on there. The top bar is held on with only one, really tightened, bolt at the bottom and I knew that was the weak point. I attached links to show how it worked. I will need to rethink how that square stock attaches.
@2574Ralph4 жыл бұрын
I would love to know to which tractor this was originally configured. I have not cut off anything. Everything I added was bolted on as I may want to eventually sell it.
@TF8564 жыл бұрын
@@2574Ralph my suggestion for attaching the top link would be two pieces of heavy gauge angle iron bolted on at the frame and going straight up then you can put a pin between the two piece of angle iron to hold that top link.
@2574Ralph4 жыл бұрын
@@TF856 Perfect idea, why didn't I think of that:) The flat surface will keep the angle iron from moving. Thank you.
@TF8564 жыл бұрын
@@2574Ralph you can probably find U bolts to go around that frame and bolt into that angle iron. You probably thought of that already. It might also be a good idea to put a couple of rigid spacers between the two angle irons. One near the top and one near the bottom. I would like to see pictures again after you get that on there if you don't mind. Thanks

Is there a way to make the blade pick up faster
@Elkmonger5 жыл бұрын
I just picked up one of these plows for my 835M. I need to make a mount for it and figure out the wiring. The 825 it came off of was DEMOLISHED in an accident. It was hit head on by a pickup truck. Luckily no one was in it. So all i got was the plow. In this video and some others it does appear to raise slow. I have noticed there is an updated power unit for them. It could be that the unit this is on doesn't have a high output Alternator. The motor seems slow in the video. Could be wore out. Maybe the armature needs to be cleaned up. There's several reasons it could be slow. If the motor is in good shape I'd say check the following: proper fluid and level. All connections especially ground. If you have an Amp Clamp see what the motor is drawing. Add a second battery, Get a high output alternator. The power unit is nothing more than a power trim unit for an outboard boat engine. I'm sure they come in different output. Could research that a little. Maybe there's a better option. I don't know how fast they were new. Maybe that's it.
@2574Ralph4 жыл бұрын
Elkmonger It’s plenty fast for my purposes. And it’s been this way since I got it. I have a new wiring harness and controller I’d be willing to sell. I bought the harness and control unit to use on another gator but never got around to installing it.

@@2574Ralph Hey Ralph I just got my plow mounted and wired up WITHOUT a joystick. My motor was seized up - no worky at all. Took it apart and cleaned it up and shined up the commutator. Mostly a little damp and rusty inside. Anyhow, I jumpered the motor just to see how it works and it raises pretty fast. I wouldn't call it slow or even labored sounding. I was running it off one of the batteries out of my 1995 Dodge Cummins with a battery tender hooked up and plugged in.

I caught similar orbs flying around my cat and dog while they were play fighting. They weren't able to be seen with the naked eye but for some reason they are caught through the camera lens. I am not an expert on paranormal activity so I can't quite see what they are but whatever they are they seem to be peaceful and maybe even playful. If anything they're definitely very intriguing. I posted the videos to my KZbin channel if anybody cares to check them out.

We were warned about the moving ice, but never encountered that issue. The bubbler has worked for about 10 years now and so far moving ice never pushed the poles. Please be reminded, we are in a small pond off the Great Peconic Bay. I would imagine ice movement on the bay would be a problem.
