Hey, I'm thinking about picking up a 300 rr. Did you find the stock suspension on the xtrainer adequate for trail riding at tillamook and places like nestucca?

@@AaronAvon-ze9uo absolutely, the stock suspension has been perfect for me However I do weigh 120 lbs , only place I felt like it didn’t shine was going over rocky sections super fast . That being said tho I also never played around with adjustments, I recently swapped from the 7.5w oil in front to 10w and have been liking it for rocky sections and jumps.

Awesome to see so much content from this area! Just went for the first time last weekend and all I can say is this place is the best bait and switch area I have ever rode. You think its gonna be a relaxing trail and about mid way through it you get reminded where you are riding. What an amazing area to ride!

Thanks! I’m using a GoPro Hero 8 and all of my YT uploads seem to have a poor quality, especially in faster sections of riding. Maybe it’s my compression or uploading.

So it's marked as a downhill trail and you decide it's a good idea to ride up it and show it publicly? Maybe consider the possible ramifications of your actions, this is exactly the kind of thing other user groups will use to restrict our access to places like this. You guys spinning your tires and digging holes all the way up that trail is a perfect example of irresponsible trail use.

It not like we’re breaking the law we just wanted to change ourselves, and I’m pretty sure the countless amount of trail work we do like cutting logs , moving rocks , etc ,makes up for the 1 to 2 minor holes we put in the trails . If anything the amount of rocks I removed that day made the trail easier and safer to go down .

And if you look at the map it doesn’t technically say it’s a 1 way trail , signs posted at the trail say it’s a black diamond down and a double black diamond up.

There is actually some pretty good single track in the Lyda camp area , I think on the map it’s lyda split trail. I have a video of it . If you use the on x off road app I can send you some trails in lyda area and d mill .

@@tpayne562 yep that's exactly what I use to navigate currently, do you have a gpx you don't mind sharing? I'm ridding solo so I try to plan before I get stuck somewhere haha. The only single track I've done in that area was out of log jam and bales I believe.

@@tpayne562 yeah gpx and kml are just popular file formats to share tracks across different apps. Well I haven't ridden any of the hardcore single track trails solo in that area just yet but I'm usually solo because I ride during weekdays so hard to find folks that can too.

Nice riding. I think you prove the xtrainer is a very capable 2nd-3rd gear harescrambler. Haven’t seen any mention of mods to the bike. Is it stock? Again, great content. Thanks.

Thanks man ! I really appreciate that ! Most the mods are just cosmetic protection. Only “power “ mod is just the fmf muffler but I only really bought that for the races due to the built in spark arrestor . Haven’t noticed to much of a difference besides just the overall sound.

Thanks for the replies. It’s my understanding, the wet/rain mode changes the timing to control rear wheel spin and have more tractability. I’m gonna give it a try and see how I like it.

I went to an OMRA race in La Pine in 2022 and raced the beginner class. The kid who won 1st that race had been racing his whole life and his instagram page was full of him holding trophies. Insane sand bagging goes on in that class.

Good video! Taking the time to put time stamps on some of the highlights is a nice touch. I was out there with you leapfrogging a bit for that first twenty minutes. On the Yamaha with the red camelbak. Cool to see some of the moments I'd already forgot about. Hope you're holding up better than me, everything still hurts!
