Thank you for this video, mine worked perfect. A couple of differences but mostly the same. Mine had an extra pin connector with the ribbon that connects the the screen back to the laptop plus three small screws at the bottom of the screen frame.

Caca Cola has sugar in it. Pure alcohol will not work. Mix 40% water and 60% Isopropyl alcohol . Put a little on the board and use a toothbrush, to clean. Repeat if is necessary, just don't put a lot of pressure with the brush.

Just followed this guide and a couple other ones cause I have a different model. Everything went good and temps significantly decreased but my cpu load is higher for some reason and spiking up to 30 sometimes almost 100 percent despite being 50 and 44 degrees. I might’ve put too much thermal paste. Any insight would be appreciated.
@LaptopDisassembly
@LaptopDisassembly 15 күн бұрын
The load has nothing to do with the temps. Probably you have some software running on background, like windows update, Defender scan or so. Open Task manager and check what is taking that 30% of load.

Did you disconnect the display cable, and if yes, did you disconnect the battery first. Also 2R2 is 2.2Ohm resistor, so is normal to show low resistance. It may smoke because there is a big load after it. Explain a little more about what you have done and did you disconnect the battery.

I tried to do this on my aging, dying laptop today. I got all the gear and had this video as a guide. Unfortunately, 2 of the screws on the heatsink were stripped (the inside was destroyed, flattened), and they are so small that no pliers or anything will get them out. This was done in the factory, and it's very disappointing. It seems like somebody used a power drill with poor technique. I tried many different ways of removing them, short of hammering into them with full force. Luckily, the computer still starts and work, and I managed to clean the fans quite well without removing the heat sink. Have you ever encountered this problem, and how did you solve it? Love the vids!

@LaptopDisassembly

Thermal paste is only on GPU and CPU. On the memory chips there is a thermal putty. It is a different viscosity. If you replace it with thermal paste it will get worse. I never replace the putty. Only you don't have to touch it or try to spread it. Just leave it like it is.

@@o22x If you like to replace the one you have ( 256Gb ) you can or clone the disk to the new bigger disk, of just copy the files and make a fresh install on the bigger drive. @LaptopDisassembly
@LaptopDisassembly Ай бұрын
NO need to replace motherboard. It is used just to hold the cable down to the pins. Put back the cable and use some isolating tape to hold it down, After that put some rubber peace above it, When you put back the upper plastic, it will push it down and it will work fine. Probably the plastic was old and "burned"
