Can you use a larger hood and do several patches at one time? Are these iron on or see on patches? You make it look so easy. Thanks for the demo, I need the push to make some patches.
@squeezed_orange5 ай бұрын
When running bulk production we use big frames, can produce 10-15 patches at a time. These are iron on, but would always recommend sewing on for a permanent fixture. Give patches a try, the hardest part is the digitising, give us a shout if you need any help.

Absolutely love your work! Are you using poly thread from Madeira? I use viscose from Madeira and I find that when I go over it with a heat gun it burns it if I'm not careful 😪 Also, what does brushing help with?
@squeezed_orange5 ай бұрын
We use poly thread for garments, viscose thread for badges. Poly thread tightens up nicely when heat gunned, we find this helps cover up the foam from sticking out. The brush is to remove any last bits of foam / dust - it can also help remove hoop marks from garments
@onestopfactory5 ай бұрын
I'll give the poly thread and brush tip a go 😁 Keep up the hard work!

@squeezed_orange5 ай бұрын
The backing we used is specific badge backing, Its a little different to soluble toppers. Main difference is badge backing is very thick, giving a nice solid base for embroidery. Very little pull compensation needed.

How do you cut it out so close without nicking the satin stitch
@theredmaster_superbee6 ай бұрын
The embroidery needle itself destroys the material... the material that is left on the outside comes off because it receives hundreds of punctures with the needle... but the material that is "trapped" between the thread makes the embroidery look inflated, They are two functions in the same step... the needle weakens the edges of the sponge and the fabric... then passes the lighter to burn and contract the loose polyester threads... the result is wonderful! Imagine everything you can do... make a cap lined with embroidered pieces... or glue pieces on adidas samba... wow it will be my next toy, I recommend Janome the largest... 38cmx20cm the embroidery area.
