Wanted to keep my car OEM (not stock, just no aftermarket parts added). Considering doing the intake resonator delete. I have HFP exhaust and like the sound quite a bit.

I've looked up the threads on how to do it and would just worry a little about water ingestion like a CAI, but i havent commited to stripping it down yet

TheMachRider You honestly have absolutely nothing to worry about. I had a CAI down in the fender well, and drove in terrible rain/flooding, and I never had an issue. This delete is so high up on the engine bay, that water would never make its way to it.

Sorry for bringing this back from the dead.. but does this affect the engine at all long term wise?? I just got this car and I deleted the intake resonator. It sounds frigging awesome but I just want to know if it damages anything long term.

Daniel Kuoch I can't think of anything that this would possibly do to the engine, other than allow it to breath with a little less restriction. Enjoy the car!

i have civic lx 2009. i change my speed at 3000rpm. over 4000rpm the engine getting loud n need to change the speed. but i see you change at 8000rpm. how come????

yeah did this to mine the vtec is so much louder, sounds great..removed the resonator and took the other piece that goes behind your battery to your fender,and taped that to where the resonator was connected on the other tube or w.e

Most likely he has and E85 kit on it which corrodes the float in the fuel tank so it always says its empty.

yo .. so just caught the plastic flange to make a pipe ...find 2 " k an n filter tighten up with hose clamp ...drill hole for o2 sensor and temp... install and vroom.

wow defenitly the nicest civic sounds I've heard in a while. I know these years of civics have the k20 engines, may I ask if yours is a k20a2 (200 HP) or the k20a3 (160 HP)? Thanks, I have the a3 in my ep3 hatchback, wondering if it could ever sound like that.

All dynos read different. Mine has a injen mr cai, base reading sas 181.3whp aftet cai it was 193.2whp 139.6 ft/lbs of torque.

SLE? I think you mean GLE. Maxima has 3 different kind of models GXE is base model, GLE is luxury model and SE is a sports tuned car significant more performance than other two models. I am a owner of 01 Maxima SE here as well.

which resonator did you remove? I was thinking of keeping the midpipe resonator and removing the resonator just before the muffle and keeping the stock muffler. Would it sound deeper or more tinny?

Bro. It's heavy but it's not that heavy. Stock hits about 50 to 60. My little Yamaha breeze 125 hit 40 easy so there is no way that 45 is this top speed

Nice number! Just got my FA5 do a Baseline Dyno n made 207whp and 150lbs of Tq. MOD are SRI, Skunk2 header and Flashpro. Not tune!
