The stupid writers didn't want a heartwarming fairytale ending they preferred true love to fall by the wayside and end it with their rebounds . I guess its more realistic, but it's also bullshit; they don't understand what a romantic fantasy is all about. It's always supposed to be about the love you lose in reality , but in your dreams nothing will tear you apart. It's the what if that you want to see, not , oh well, whatever, that's life(we know that already , sometimes thats how it goes , no duh). You want to know what could have been reflected on screen
