I’ve always loved the sentiment of “both man and master in the night are one …” 👍 The genius lyric of Bill Caddick.

Followed by ‘All things are equal when the day is done’. Christy changed it in a subsequent solo recording to ‘Some things are equal when the day is done’, which I didn’t like so much. His first solo recording of it is beautiful.

I found traditionalIirish music by following a breadcrumb left by U2 back in my early teens and where I left U2 behind as I aged, traditional Irish music is a continuing force in my life into middle age.

The Si were mounds, entrances to the Otherworld inhabited by the Tuatha De Dannan, the pre-Christian Irish gods. Why the video had all that Christian imagery is beyond me.

I came to this video because at Mass yesterday, we sang a song that is loosely based on this tune. Drove me crazy because I know the proper tune, but didn't know its name. So happy to find it here, many thanks!

I'd like to visit Ireland, but I am 74 years old and not so nimble as I used to be. Can I get taxis in cities and towns? Can I get transportation across the country, like from one town to another not too far away? Are there plenty of hotels in the summer?

You can do it! I’m an American living in Ireland and I assure you that with the helpful locals and good tourist infrastructure you could have a great time.

Well, my wife and I did visit Ireland, from June 24 to July 11. We flew to Dublin. After several days in Dublin we got as rental car and drove in a loop -- Kilkenny Cork Killarney Dingle Galway Connemara National Park, back to Brú na Bóinne Complex and Dublin. That was very fun and interesting. Two weeks wasn't long enough. Too much to see. We took cabs in Dublin and Galway - no problem. The people of Ireland are so nice and fun. Any American who wants to drive in Ireland needs to be a very skilled driver. Every day was an excellent experience.
