i am in the gravity block of the month . I don't know when the blocks are coming out each month.

Thanks for the tips. I use the tip of sewing the points first and check to see if it’s ok. Works perfect. The instructions say 12” finished size so I assime we have to square up and trim the finished block to 12”. Can you please confirm?
@jaybirdquilts8 күн бұрын
No trimming is needed. Do not trim! The blocks are 12.5" finished from flat side to flat side which results in 12" finished once sewn into the quilt.

❤ this tutorial, thank you! As a beginner, it's useful to watch you cut a fabric with stripes. That way, I can keep track of the bias. For me, too much moving a solid fabric color around makes me lose sight of selvage and bias, this tutorial makes me think I should start with stripes as markers for direction of the fabric.
@jaybirdquilts26 күн бұрын
I love a striped bias binding! And this is a beginner friendly way to make a bias binding. It's worth giving it a go and trying it out.

I will be doing two (I hope) I have a solids quilt from a purchase of a kit ages ago as well as the Northcott set coming. Your cutting a smaller square was very helpful. I love your rulers. It makes daunting-looking patterns so much easier. I did Nebula as well. I can't wait to start.

You do not need the Gravity book that's in the Northcott kit to participate in the sew along. That book is exclusive to the kit and it's not available elsewhere. You're welcome to sew along with the original book! That's fully supported in this sew along.
