'Joe' gets a mention at approx 0:40, referring to Joe Meek, who found and designed Lansdowne Studios, dubbed "The House Of Shattering Glass" because of it's excellent fidelity. charm.rhul.ac.uk/redist/pdf/wf3Irwin.pdf

how the morals of Mickie Most upset Don Arden.??? are you being serious? I worked with these people in the late 80s early 90s when they were Jet Records in Wimbledon. These are some of the most appalling people you'll ever meet. Don Arden was no better or worse than Mickie Most, could even have been worse actually and David Arden is probably the worse liar I've ever met in my entire life and I'm not exaggerating. An utter coward who wouldn't think twice about resorting to lies to get out of any situation rather than face it. They were like a double act at times. I'll give you an example. This isn't an exception. This was the norm. On this occasion they owed me £650. They owed it to me. That wasn't up for question. A relatively small amount. I spoke to David on the phone. He said 'the cheque is on my desk...just come and get it. Then we can have a chat, go for a drink blah blah blah'. It would take me about 2 hours or so to get their office. Spoke to the secretary in reception 'Oh I'm soooo sorry, David's had to leave in a hurry. He's gone to LA at short notice' He was probably just hiding in the toilet or something. She could see I wasn't happy and I think she felt a bit sorry for me, so she said 'Don's here, I'll see if he'll talk to you' which he did. Part 2 of the double act. Kept me waiting about an hour, When you went into his office you were met with sheer aggression. 'WHAT MONEY? DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING' and that was normally followed by finding ways to insult and undermine you. Even though you're being perfectly polite, reasonable and rational. That's how they did things. It would be like you getting your windows cleaned, then the guy comes to the door to get paid and you say 'WHAT MONEY? DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT, NEVER HEARD OF SUCH A THING' . This is just a one off. I could write a book. Horrible people. I remember once ringing them (again about money) and David Arden pretending to be an Irishman. I knew it was him because once or twice the accent dropped. 'Don and David aren't here, the building's empty. I'm just the plumber (or something like that)' That was the last time I ever spoke to them. I said OK, and put the phone down. It was sad, it wasn't funny. When it goes that far, you know it's come to an end. Over the last couple of decades, probably since the Internet, Don Arden's become some sort of anti hero for some reason. I think that's what happens when mythology is turned into history. David's a piece of scum. Nice guy, very charming, funny, but nonetheless, scum.

Wow. A universally hated nonce refusing to crawl under a rock. Instead, chooses to bore the shit out of people with yesteryear tales that nobody gives a toss about but conveniently leaves out the pedo detail. Dirty beast!!!

I could listen to Rob all day. So many questions, as most ‘glitter’ bands had one cross dresser was Rob to,d to wear the skirts and who copied who with the image. Mud weren’t so much a glitter band but had styling cues from 50’s dressing, crepes and drapes. I loved the singles. And Les’s echoing Elvis.

Try counting all the Bill Shepherds making music in the last 60 years. An impossible number of people. This man doesn't say who he is, it's 3:40 minutes long and has no context whatsoever. Some one titled it "Bill Shepherd toured in comfort with Chris Farlowe" . Claims aren't evidence. This clip is a nothing burger.

Hi all, I have in my possession, 4 Michael Cox original Emidisc demos. Can’t You See, A Certain Girl, I’ll Always Love You, You Never Can Tell (Till You Try). They are handwritten “To Elaine Love from Pete”. Does this mean anything to anyone?

Great drummer and have been listening to the pirates all day. I just love clean sounds with over driven amps or pre fuzz distortion. But the main thing is the songs were so much better in construction. Clem was talking about the system we’re by record companies would put a fast dance track on the a side and a slow ballad on the beachside or vice versa which is interesting to me because it shows that they were after all three generations in the family in the ballad would appeal to the parents and the grandparents and the fast rock ‘n’ roll track shaking all over would appeal to the kids today music and culture is so divided even pubs over 50s go the Wetherspoons twenties to thirties go to Yates wine Lodge it’s very sad the young don’t mix with the older generation whereas when I was growing up, I was playing bands as a 20 year-old with 60-year-old menand didn’t have a problem with it at all age was nothing to me but today you see musician adverts and not only does it state the age. She must be between 20 and 30 mentions what gender you must be so discriminatory today.

If you search for 'The Beatles Star Club I Remember You' you'll find a couple of recordings of John Lennon playing Harry's iconic harmonica part! The video with the black & white pic (rather than the sepia) with Pete Best sitting at the drums is the better of the two
