I wish I could just step into the video and experience that whole day. then I would go watch Jaws in the theater. Then after that I see if I can go find where they're making Star Wars.

Maybe not so heavy as Black Sabbath, but I would put Scorpions 2nd, and, then, Judas Priest…and, then, although really bluesy with it all, Nazareth we’re heavy as shit! Loved Nazareth, as well! Van Halen already had the sustained distortion before anyone on their groundbreaking debut, in 1978! Although the music, mainly the vocals back then were always Beach Boys-cheery, yea, Van Halen were also right up there! Van Hakeem kicked everyone’s teeth in! It wasn’t even close!

Scorpions is TEALLY whom most people overlook, and act as if they weren’t around til’ 1979’s, “Lovedrive,” when, in actuality, their debut album was 1972’s, “Lonesome Crow,” and I would say that the Scorpions mid to late 70’s stuff is as heavy as any of the pioneering bands that you just named! Scorpions, esp. with lead guitarist-era,UliRoth were extremely heavy!

They sound like a very raw garage band here. But of course they really refined their sound over the next few years and became legends.

Priest was the true inventor of the metal genre. Sabbath and Purple were just hard rock bands.
@johnpolitis792917 күн бұрын
@@Njm1965 Yes but it was doom metal, not the speed and thrash metal that Priest invented. Priest was also the first band to proudly use the name heavy metal while Tony Iommi denied categorizing Sabbath as metal but only heavy rock.

Thank you so much for uploading this video for all the Judas Priest fans, like you said I'm pretty sure it's the oldest known video footage of them playing and you can see and hear how they already had their foundation which they have built on over 50 years, I think Black Sabbath were dark and heavy but more gothic where Judas Priest were the first to take hard rock into true metal when they went with the leather & studs and Halford wearing mirror sun glasses using a whip like a S&M Dom and riding a motorcycle on stage, I've seen them many times and I'm thankful they are now in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

@buddylove346 Early Judas Priest was also epic, gothic, and doomy for their first 3 albums too from 1974-1977. That change was altered on their 4th and 5th albums in 1978.

@ПетрПетров-в5т9л Sounds like 70s to me as it has a mid-70s vibe with a bluesier heavy rock feel here that later metal would lack.
