Very nice demo. It would be superb to have filter envelope (JP-8000) style on that lead sound and fiddle the cutoff to make it sound like it's 1999.

Hi! The part around 2:00 really reminds me of a track, I think it was something along the lines of 90s EDM/Trance maybe... Is there any way someone can help me remember the name of a similar track :D Thanks!

+bet dip Drums were just samples sequenced in Logic. DE was recorded in single audio track and gets some delay and reverb. That's mixed with video's audio.

How did you do that? Was this from a factory sound on the device and you sped up the arpeggiator to make it full blown trance? That was amazing! Please share what you did here I'm picking one up in the morning and would love to show that off to my wife, she would freak out!

House Music Glad you liked! I just wrote the notes down to the sequencer as I listened the original track. Arpeggio is within the melody so I didn't use the synth's own arpeggiator. I think I found some promising factory preset and used that as a starting point, as usual. This is not exactly the Antiloop-sound but it played so well with their melody that I made this video. Osc slop has to be 5 so that oscillators don't phase too much. Then I have mildly different fine tuning between oscillator 1 and 2 for each voice. The essence in this sound is made by unison (detune 3) and the VCA stereo spread and the effects of course. Then you just have to add most appealing envelope curves for the melody. These gate-like envelopes here does the noisy snaps in the beginning but it doesn't matter when the filter is open. Did I answer to your questions? ... And how the heck your username was still free? :D

My synths volume gets lower when i turn down the pedal gain. Is it like that with all distortion pedals?
@ahtivision
@ahtivision 9 жыл бұрын
raresore I think it depends how the pedal is made. This is my only one. In very basics, distortion itself is amplifying but so that the signal clips. I wonder if your input level to the pedal is lower than standard line level so that distortion gain has to catch up the level where it starts to really clip? If you try to drive the synth full on to the pedal first. I remember the second pot in this pedal in single muff mode acts as volume control on purpose. Sharp edges in the signal, i.e. harmonic frequencies in the sound, tend to eat up the dynamic range and the loudness from sound. Funnily adding more "power" makes it sound less powerful. That's the reason I used heavily modulated filter with strong resonance peak in this video to make it sound good.

Very nicely done! Reminds me a bit of a cross between Joe Jackson's Steppin' Out and Yellow Magic Orchestra's Behind The Mask, if that makes sense! ;-)

Dude that is sick, I remember this song. You sold me, I was having a hard time between a Ultranova, KingKorg, and this. I know they are all different markets, but the analog just sounds so rich.

I love this. I've tryed my Big Muff with synths but the EQ is so radical that is very hard to achieve something that's not too scooped, too weak in the bass or too dark, I wonder if this Muff would yoeld better results but then again I'm not having great results with a nice silicon Fuzz Face so I'm not sure... Am I sending signal that's too hot for the fuzz face? is it perharps a picky pedal? I don't know... Yet ^.^

Yes! I was waiting for it, but four voice poly or unison seems to be so rich in harmonics that this turns it mostly noise. However I wondered if one could mod these two overdrive circuits to be used parallel in stereo. Stereo spread of voices might clear up the overdrive effect per channel. Overall DE's fully analogue filter articulates better through muff than MophoX4's digital interface. :)

This is a sick combo! Have you tried this pedal with your Mopho x4? I always wondered how does the Mopho sounds with a pedal. :)

Sorry for being inactive in youtube so long... I am Mekatron in soundcloud but I have nothing much there. I suddenly became an analog "purist" so I have to work on remaking recently made stuff, but some old VST pieces from 2002-2008 are available on website (link added in description). I really should update that site too...thanks for interest :)

You must mean that USB interface. That's only for midi notes and commands and audio output is in two separate analog plugs: one in front and another, CV4 plug, on the back can be switched to send audio as well. The one at the back panel also connects DE's mono signal to 2 channels of stereo jack. I found that feature very useful when using headphones.
