If a person prefers MOA vs Mil who cares. I wouldnt want a super tactical Mil scope on my old Winchester 243, it would look out of place and would not do anything more than the vintage weaver 3-9 doesnt already do. But a nice mil scope on a tactical 308 or ar I could see. To some guys its not all about having the latest greatest and that should be accounted for, I think.

Mil is simpler. It's Mils for me. The difference between 1-click of a 1/10th Mil scope and 1-click of a .25 MOA scope at 1000 yards is 0.9825 inches. You NOR your rifle will be accurate enough to take advantage of that .9825 inches at 1000 yards. Unless of course you and your rifle are guaranteed to shoot .125 MOA groups you won't be able to tell. Nuff said.

It is easy for me for moa and I don’t know anything about mil scope and I don’t have a spotter I just go look ant the target 🎯 to see my impact and I can hit steel with my 30-06 at 1000 yards!! But I play with my rifle all the time and I hand load for my long range bullet

Fantastic scope ,but the price is for the most people to muchs. And there are a large number of optics for less in price with very good results. And of course if you shoot powder I understand, because I only shoot PCP- Airguns.😉😁😁

Superb! I was just asking WhoTeeWho on his channel about this stuff. He directed me to check out the latest Burris scopes. I'm a beginner shopping for my first hunting rifle, but I'm gonna get a scope first. Something I can put on a PCP airgun (likely 30 cal FX Impact Sniper) when it's not on my main rifle (undecided, but likely 30-06 or 6.5 PRC, with hunts likely < 200yards, but I'll get what I get). I noticed all these calculations hunters go through at the range to zero their scopes & how complex profiles are calculated. I was wondering if there was a scope that took in all your data. I knew there were some that know about your ammo, like caliber, weight, bullet type, distance to target & suggested drop over that distance, is the bullet leaded or unleaded, even the brand, etc. I'm also wondering if data about the rifle would help - like, like how many twists are in the barrel, length of the barrel, overall weight of the gun with the scope, and maybe even a history for analysis of how the ammo performs when the barrel is hot (scope knows when a bullet's been fired, offers advice on how long it takes to cool down, etc). Also wondered if there's any AI involved in processing the image - like, what type of animal is it, what's its approximate age, how fast is it moving, how many seconds before the bullet should reach it, where is its heart/lungs according to the image, etc. I know I'm going a bit over the top on scope AI, but if this scope is doing more than detecting " * -ometer " things like humidity, elevation, etc by using its own innate sensors, such as getting some data from the cellphone due to the app constantly hitting APIs, processing things about the environment, but also of the horizon as the rifle "sees" it - such as the image in the reticle being 'translated', above & beyond the calculations you made. It could warn you of the presence of other hunters, maybe of campsites on the horizon or national park limits, access roads, cellphone/human 'traffic', even detected animals you might not have seen in the fore/background, etc, within the bullet's probable flight pattern. The scope would know more about the horizon within the bullet's likely flight path than you would. You could set it on different learning/alerting levels, have it analyze & process what it 'sees' at all known zoom ranges on-the-fly as the data/direction/elevation, etc, changes. Like, if you walk into a valley, the temp drops, humidity goes up, etc - your scope is always on guard, assessing its environment & whatever the rifle's pointed at. Is this a bad idea, making amateur hunters think they're pros (which is REALLY bad)? Maybe people would trust the scope too much, taking the sport out of it? Or is this where the tech is headed?

I use the eliminator 3 and the issue with this is that you cannot put an ammo that drops too much over 750 yds. The argument is that it would be off the scope at this range but it is not necessary as you are seldom actually shooting out this far. it is not really a hardware issue. it is a software issue and a thinking issue that really limits the usefulness of the scope, especially for rifles or shorter barrels that don't get the velocity on the ammo box. I hoped that this would have been fixed but it appears not.

have you tried winding your magnification down to bring the dot back into the scope? First gen E3's don't have this feature....
@warwick.schaffer
@warwick.schaffer 24 күн бұрын
@@anthonysullivan4202 this is not to do with magnification. it is to do with software programming. in short, you can't put a 750 yard drop on that's greater than 230 in.

@@warwick.schaffer have you tried a 200yd zero?
@warwick.schaffer
@warwick.schaffer 23 күн бұрын
@@anthonysullivan4202 no and that's beside the point. the scope requires zeroing at 100 yd to work anyway. The point here is that the drop at 750 yd is artificially limited to 230 in. if you could just put in more it would solve the problem.
@anthonysullivan4202
@anthonysullivan4202 22 күн бұрын
@@warwick.schaffer I agree about the 230" limit being an issue but the scope can be programmed for a 200yd zero, not just 100yds. You obviously know how the programming works so just go up to 2 in the first number of the programming setup, unless you have a first gen E3 witch doesnt have this feature. Hope this helps you👍

How is the low light capabilities in the %, coating, etc...had an earlier version and used it out west in daylight hours..But in the South, it failed in the area when deer are most active, in low light conditions and this it not an understatement..this is the main reason I use German optics there is a major different in seeing an animal and being able to identify an animal in these low light conditions, you can cram all the bells & whistles into a scope but if the glass is not there its no good.....In daylight tho I loved this scope, but alot of scopes look good looking through them in daylight hours..Hunters like myself, don't always punch paper are ring steel or live out west..With all this being said I'll probably buy one in the end..

Hi. I am thinking of getting the Eliminator 6. My concern and question; must you hold your finger on the bottom to keep the point of aim, or does the scope hold the point of aim for a few seconds, to allow you to use the left hand to support the rifle. Or are you forced to keep the left hand on the scope (button) and only have your right hand to support the rifle and pull the trigger. Especially in a situation where an animal is constantly moving (changing distance), and you only have a split second to range and shoot between the movements. Thank you.
@Sportoptics

The default time for the point of aim to be displayed is 15 seconds after the button is pressed and it can be changed to longer in the app.

Hi, I just bought one and put it on a fierce rifle. My question is that the radical and windage click from the top and side of the scope. Do I have to set it to 0 before I put every piece of information into the app. I am kind of confused about the unit setting for the wind speed. Do I supposed to put 0 or 10 or more on the wind speed, and for the yardage, do I supposed to put 100 or 2000 for the yardage any thing let me know I'm stuck please help. Thank you
