Why are the deep sea fish coming the the surface before Goji arrives? Hard to say: Do they flee in fear and kill themselves by decompression (an old Dark Horse Comic featured Tokyo Bay being choked by millions of sea creatures that fled and ran aground to avoid Godzilla)? Does the power of "G's" slipstream drag the fishes up with him?

While my all-time Favret will always be Son of Godzilla because as a kid it was the one me and my friends all shared and loved. This iteration id by far the best ever. Taking in to account the low budget it was made with and how well they establish a bond with the characters in it I fell no other gets close to this level of excellence. The One thing I seen that I know had to be done for plot was that the Takao came in with a full or nearly full head of steam then suddenly stopped. Sorry no. She was designed to use her speed to avoid damage and would Never have simply Stopped thus giving up a great advantage. Again, I know why it had to happen that way for the plot. Would have appreciated that ark going a bit more to the ships side just the same. It was destined to end with Takao being utterly erased by Godzilla's Atomic breath, but it could have happened differently. Still, this movie made me like and connect to the characters and feel as no other since Son of Godzilla ever did.

You’re the first reviewer I’ve seen who instantly understood this was a “first form” thing when he first appears…every Godzilla movie out of Japan was predicated on him being a beast created from the fires of atomic energy…some of them even taking the same approach and showing a pre-atomic blast “Godzillasaurus”

During Capaldi's speech, I feel like that's when Kate finally realized that the Doctor didn't condemn war out of some sense of superiority, but because he despaired at the thought of more tragedy like what he witnessed in the time war.

I read that the 1st doctor beat the toymaker originally by imitating his voice and tricking his game world. So it seems that this NPH toymaker is constantly changing his voice and accents to counteract it this time. Or is just a really cool creepy interpretation to a reality altering trickster god.

Kudos to you for having seen Pyramids of Mars. You would be shocked at how many reaction channels haven't even seen the standout classic stories. They are like "who is sutekh, tell me in the comments?" Like bro, go get a Britbox subscription and do your homework before the finale 😅 - glad you understand how big a threat this is.

I just kind of thought of this today, but, does it seem to anyone else as though, something is trying to get the Doctor to just give up on humanity? It seems to me like specifically they are being drawn to places that show the worst of humanity in front of the Doctors face. First we have the people who would just abandon babies, then we had people who basically let a company take advantage on them based on blind faith, and now a society of racist entitled teens and young adults.
@margretrosenberg4206 ай бұрын
But that's always happened. The Doctor has been to Nazi Germany. He visited a ship with humans who had enslaved a Star Beast and were torturing it to force it to carry them where they wanted to go. He has taken down a prime minister because she gave the order to shoot aliens who had basically surrendered. The Doctor has always encountered the worst parts of humanity. But not JUST humanity. Remember the two big mysteries he's investigating? Ruby's origins and his own origins? The Doctor has recently discovered that his own mother is actually his adoptive mother. That she repeatedly killed him when he was a child, to find out how regeneration worked. That she then forced him to work for her secret society that was trying to control the universe, and has deleted huge swathes of his memory, and embarked on a project to destroy the universe when The Doctor finally got enough information to rebel. The Doctor had a chance to wipe out the Daleks before they ever arose, simply by allowing the death of one child who was destined to become a monstrous mad scientist, and he didn't take it. Because that isn't Who The Doctor is. Companions come and go. Eventually they all die. But at the end of the day, The Doctor has to be able to keep liking him (or her) self, because his selves are all he can rely on. The Doctor is more concerned with his own ethics than with the ethics of those he saves, or tries to save.

There were soooo many overt and subtle signs of racism and prejudice scattered throughout the episode: 1. Lindy was revolted and blocked the Doctor when he first appeared on her feed. 2. Lindy didnt block Ruby. She was more receptive to Ruby when she appeared on her feed. Lindy spoke to Ruby and believed her over the Doctor. 3. When the Doctor appeared for the second time on her feed, Lindy asked him if the monsters "have something to do with you" (she didnt ask Ruby this, just the Doctor) 4. Lindy told her groupcall to listen to the Doctor and that "i know this is wrong and after this is all over he will be so disciplined, i cant wait, and he doesn't look as stupid as he looks" (of course due to the color of his skin) 5. No person of color lived in Finetime 6. Lindy was shocked to learn that Ruby and the Doctor were in the same room together in such close proximity 7. Lindy told the Doctor "Didnt I block you? I knew it. I just thought you looked the same, but you're the same person I blocked. I was so right to hate you." (Implying all black people look the same) 8. When they met, Lindy told Ruby and the Doctor "Gosh, you two, this is strange." (meaning a white and black person working together) 9. And a few more microagressions towards the Doctor before they met in the final scene AND in the final scene where the racism got blatant.

Your guesses are no worse than anyone else’s. What the older Ruby said may not really matter, or may be important, we don’t know at this time, and we may never learn the answer. Was this an alternative time line? Why does Ruby change the number of times that she’s been there? She says two times originally, but at the end she says three, but she only assumes that this now is the third time, not remembering the prior incident, but still counting it. Did the Doctor know why the Prime Minister quit? Does he know that Ruby caused it? Was the entire time change needed so that Ruby could stop the possibility of a nuclear war? It’s all up to our imaginations at this time, but I’m convinced Ruby’s birth mother is involved somehow. I don’t think Ruby is who anyone thinks she is, and I don’t think she knows either. Someone said in a review of the last episode that their theory is that this is an alternate timeline. And then in this episode we see an alternate timeline. Remember, in the corrected timeline she still saw her older self just before the Doctor nearly steps on the fairy circle. And even Kate said that there’s been an increase in supernatural events. And so far we also haven’t seen any alien threats. This episode is the more familiar, or at least, the more expected kind of show us old-time fans think of when we think of the last five (6?) Doctors. And no musical or dancing in this episode, it was getting kinda redundant. Or does that mean something that we haven’t understood yet?
@AmaanKhan-d8m6 ай бұрын
I dont know about the woman's hand gestures and why exactly 73 yards, but i do have other theories. Where did the doctor go: he was the one who broke the fairy circle, so maybe his disappearance was a type of punishment. And why didnt Ruby disappear? She was the one who took the scroll about Mad Jack and read it, so taking down the PM had become her mission alone, although she didnt know it yet. Why did the woman make everyone hate Ruby: I feel like it was a defence mechanism, coz nothing should hamper Ruby's mission of dethroning the PM. If Unit, for example, successfully intervened and captured the woman, Ruby would have never been able to deal with the PM. So, its like: you try to approach her or talk to her, then you are repelled by her and driven away from Ruby, so that Ruby's mission can be completed without impediments or distractions. Nobody tried to approach the woman after Ruby dealt with the PM, so we don't know if this theory holds. There is no paradox. The episode occured in an alternate timeline. And in that timeline, Ruby stopped the PM from leading the "the world to the brink of nuclear war", to quote the Doctor. So there is no actual nuclear war. When the timeline is reset in the final scene, Ruby does not live a life where she will stop the PM, so it isnt a paradox. Her original timeline is restored. In the final scene, the doctor again tells Ruby about the dangerous PM. Going by the exact words of the Doctor, the PM will indeed come to power in 2046, but clearly doesn't do any catastrophic damage. He simply acquires the weapons for symbolism. This entire episode was in an alternate timeline and trying to be all meta coz in this alternate timeline, Doctor Who does not have a title sequence.

I'm in my 70s, and to the best of my knowledge I've seen every episode of _Doctor Who_ (which isn't to say that I actually remember every episode). Ncuti Gatwa is the first incarnation of The Doctor (not counting William Hartnell) who has seemed to me to be fully The Doctor from his very first appearance. All of the others needed time to work into the role. Do you remember Alan Rickman as Hans Gruber in _Die Hard?_ How about Alexander Dane in _Galaxy Quest?_ And Professor Snape in the _Harry Potter_ movies? One actor, who brought three totally different characters to life. And Alan Rickman was so good at what he did that I have trouble seeing the actor when I watch the movie - all I can see is the character. I think Ncuti Gatwa is that good.

I'm actually curious, did the "ambulance" say "3082 years" as Calendar Years... but is that because they're in the distant future oooor is she actually 3082 years old...? Also, good video !
@margretrosenberg4206 ай бұрын
Language isn't made to properly deal with "timey-wimey" stuff. RUBY is 19 or 20 years old (sorry, I don't remember offhand which birthday she just had), because that is how many years she has experienced. But she was BORN 3082 years ago. The AI has no way to know how Ruby got to its current time, and isn't sophisticated enough to make the distinction even if it did know. Therefore, given that she was born 3082 years ago, the AI considers her to be 3082 years old. Remember The Doctor fixing Ruby's cell phone so she can call her mother across time? That isn't just to reassure Ruby's mom; it's also an antidote for the sudden realization that everyone Ruby has ever known is now dead, something that any time traveler would have to deal with somehow. Yet another hazard of being The Doctor's companion.
