The doctor found a tumor in the sigmoid colon during a colonoscopy and took tissue from the tumor for a biopsy. Then, the tumor is tattooed so the surgeon can easily identify the part of the colon that will be removed.

Doctor, I've had such poor experiences with ignorant, dismissive, and ineffective specialists in other disciplines, that my anxiety is extremely high that any polyps or issues may be overlooked in testing. I need to begin regular colonoscopy testing. Is there any advice for patients in identifying a quality specialist?
