Carrying a spare carb would be a good idea just in case. Went ahead and ordered a steel replacement manifold so, worst case scenario, I can reweld it. Seems like it's been a bit of a trade off between ease of use and performance. The PD is a little more difficult to start, no one pull starts like the stock carb. It's always 2 or 3. Maybe a bit more finicky too. As they say - reliability, affordability, performance. Choose two.

I’m running the standard 2 blade props. Just ran a tap through them to thread onto the motor.

I made this mount from the H shaped one that you’re seeing on Amazon. Just welded it to a couple steel c clamps with square stock for reinforcement. Quick and dirty but works.

I believe it’s stage 3. Has an aftermarket carb and exhaust, 275 brown box cam, billet connecting rod, flat top piston, and aluminum flywheel.

I welded the stock H shaped mount to a pair of steel C clamps and reinforced with square stock. Quick and ugly but it works.

18-19 mph unloaded. No governor, I think its “stage 3”. Like Gabriel said above it has a 275 cam, flat top piston, billet rod, and ported head.

17-18, but the engine is modified. With a stock engine you're not far off.

Hahaha. It does look a little ridiculous, but they work well for frog gigging and okay for bow fishing.

I installed a billet connecting rod and flywheel, flat top piston, 26lb valve springs, ported the stock head, a 275 lift cam, thin head gasket, vm22 carb and exhaust.

@@manuelve1998The rod and flywheel are for safety, but yes, $200 in parts gave a 50% boost in top speed. What you don’t see in this video is how much easier the boat gets on plane, or cruising with partial throttle where a stage 1 engine required full throttle to stay on plane.

The output shaft was 1/2” too long on the predator crankshaft. This can be fixed either with spacers or just cutting 1/2” off of the output shaft.

Yep, this video has a stock 6 HP Briggs. I’ve since upgraded to a stage 3 predator 212 for more power and speed.

There’s a review on Amazon that says it won’t work with a predator motor, but it might be user error🤷 I think it should work

I had to cut 1/2 inch off of the motor shaft on my predator so that it would bolt up.

Like Brent said, the output shaft was 1/2" too long. You can either use a spacer or shorten the shaft. Other than that it bolted right up.
