My sony hdr az1 (controlled via the app) takes in xavc s mode 400mb per minute storage space. no matter what fps setting i am using. is that normal? wtf

I dont get it. Why is the lens of both sonys distorting the image again? or what exactly is happening at 7:25 ish? And is that something you can correct with a lens that you can put on?

7 years later... I have Roam1 with Roam2 firmware and I noticed low light levels and contrast are very poor. I think its in the firmware where the trouble is, the Roam2 firmware did enable 60 FPS for the Roam1 but it definitely looks like the firmware did more harm than good. Unfortunately I got this camera with the v2.16 Roam2 firmware already installed and no Roam1 firmware or tools to port it back. Roam3 firmware is not compatible with Roam 1 or 2. So it seems Roam2 is just an updated version of Roam1. The trouble with side by side comparisons, is variables in manufacturing. Every camera is adjusted manually at the factory and a slight difference in primary focus adjustment can have an effect, tooling and calibration equipment used in the factory can change over time and with maintenance and can cause a visible effect across generations. You could get varied results even with the identical models manufactured months or years apart. But for the most part, I think the biggest differences I see in your review are based in the firmware and your Roam2 was afflicted with a quality control issue that also led to its doom in the water.

This was the most detailed comparison/footage demonstration video ever. Most of the video that shows some camcorder's performance is really suffers from the youtube compression. I assume it's 5000kbps at fhd quality. I think they downgraded it cause of 4K contents or high bitrate for premium memberships. But in this video, instead of forced upscaling, I could see the static scenes that can be less affected by the low bitrate. (and zooming the footage) It really helped me a lot to know where to start and buy. Thanks a lot my man🤝🤝

We’ve only had the cameras up and running for a short time. kzbin.infoUgkxOXxsTZ3ptV_Pk0fFl8bNZvVqeoqBQFwe So far we love them! I got the outdoor mounting kit for them and they were easy to install. Once you download the app, it walks you through the very easy set up. The clarity, and range is awesome. I am thinking seriously about adding another camera or two to my 3 camera system. The price is lower than a lot of comparable systems.

This is MarkHawkCam, and I am all good. I took some time off to focus on my career after getting sick and running into time management problems. The industry has changed, requiring more time than I could invest. You can still see my work though in movies and TV such as the Book of Boba Fett, Star Trek Picard S3, and animated films such as Trolls Band Together. Best and see you out there ;)

Thanks for the video. Someone just gave me one of these 2014 heros. I dont have a small enough SD to try it yet. It looks almost as good as my hero 6. But somehow my 3 year old galaxy phone takes better video 😂 weird.

Wonderful. Color balance seems to the the big issue...with the purple lupin not showing up at all on the 1, but obvious on the 3... seems your 2 was defective and undoing the update might change the low light failing.. Certainly makes me willing to accept a used 1 without question.. and 2 not very much.

I have the hero GoPro the one that in sealed inside the waterproof case , can you advise is there any way of viewing the footage while filming can’t seem to see the wifi function on it hate to think I have to film and view the footage later 😮

4 k vs 1080 LOL then handy cap the 1080 with neutral color vs vivid which why is a better coloring that the bland go pro color back then. LOL

Can you list ALL the Contour models? and your ranking of reliability? I am looking for another Roam camera used.. I have a Contour Roam 1600.. It has a great battery! 10 years.. Still works! Is a 1600 a Roam 1? What is a Roam 1400 ?
