Video Game Music

Unfortunately the only way I can see that might upgrade the video quality is to learn a new video program, which is like learning a new language. I understand you don't get additional trade routes for building a Harbour and a Commercial Hub together in the same city, but with the powerful adjacency bonuses I like the boost to economy it gives me. Besides the Commercial Hub tends to be the 4th priority specialty district anyways. (After Campuses, Harbours and Industrial Zones which in turn swap priorities depending on the city.) A question for you if I may. How much of the video did you actually watch? Because I did build a Government Plaza (from hence referred to as, GP) in my second city, Hagmatana, which you can see from the 4th part "Familiar Faces" onwards. This is because of several reasons: 1) The capital is almost always your highest production city, it has the palace. Therefore it does not need the support a GP offers to help boost a weaker city's adjacencies. 2) Its reduced cost makes it a perfect opportunity to be built in a weaker city. 3) I want to use my capital in science games especially as a baby-making settler machine. To do this efficiently I need a second city to build the GP and its Ancestral Hall separately as the production queue can only handle one operation at a time. 4) I try to reserve the GP for a city that's either inland with no access to a Harbour or a city that cannot hold an Aqueduct to help alleviate the lack of production/growth via the boosts to its other districts. 5) Some policy cards can help boost the yields to your cities that hold either a palace, GP or Diplomatic Quarter. Shoving them all in the capital somewhat restricts your benefit of that. 6) The GP itself grants a city +8 loyalty. Really helpful in a tight spot when you're struggling to keep hold of a fringe location city and Amani is just not enough (or you want to relocate her to suzerain a powerful city state and cannot leverage without some additional help). The capital is almost never under any loyalty threat and benefits least from having such a boost. "Really Holy Site?" If you mean why have one? Religions are one of the most powerful, modular components you can have in any game, for any win condition, and it needs to be your first priority in the capital if you wish to secure your religion in an online speed game. For Science games it offers me Work Ethic for increased production, the Wat for increased Science, Tithe for increased gold, and sometimes even Feed the World for extra growth. Holy Sites make for the ideal 5th and final specialist district.

No doubt, the mod community does a lot of fantastic work making the game easier to play, adding other Civilizations and so on, but I've always been a vanilla player. As with a lot of other things, I tend to prefer viewing games through as raw a lens as possible. While quick deals and such are arguably the way to go for pure QoL improvements, I feel any mod the devs would want in their game, they should be actively looking to put in their game, and if they didn't that's on them. Hopefully all these great mod ideas will be implemented in Civ VII.

@@quintin1903 I have formulated my video making into a regular structure to reduce work time (depending on what you're calculating these videos can take literal days to make, they take hours to play as it is) so I will definitely keep it in mind to try to use my "Final Thoughts" as more of a form of recap in future games, but don't expect any drastic changes.

I actually made a Queen Victoria guide not too long ago on winning a Science race deity game on a Fractal Map. Also I designed my thumbnails in a way that informs the viewer which map I played on (the top left symbol next to my logo is the same map logo Civ VI made that corresponds to that game). I think it has helped me that I have focused on one win con type being Diplomacy and to do that I always start every game thinking "where is a woods tile I can put a Holy Site next to and build Mahabodhi in my cap.?" Makes it almost impossible to forget to use pins when I need to think about it t1. Its cool to see all you folk who have been playing the series for so long! I feel like a baby again, but one with a few more words to say than goo goo gaa gaa. xD

Civ VI is the only Civ I have ever played and it is the first 4x I have ever played too. It showed me the ropes, has a fantastic tutorial, and with it allowed me to grow all the way to the hardest difficulty. It is imo in the arguably short period of time I've been playing (though I have now also played Stellaris and Humankind) the holy grail of 4x. I hope you fall in love with it as much as I have. <3

@@adrenali_n1607 I understand the time issue, but you really lose a lot of the context without the having played the other series, and get a lot of spoilers for both Sky and the Crossbell duology, especially once CSIII happens, but even still quite a bit in CSII alone. Fair warning.

At this moment I'm actually struggling to find time to continue this series at all, a series I have definitely fallen in love with. Actually I'd recommend you try watching one of my earlier videos of this play through. When I travel through the Shadow Realm and discuss with a live viewer the very same topic. Alas this is not as easy or time efficient as you may think. Downloading the video from Twitch, uploading it to my video editor, editing the video, and then most of all uploading back to KZbin takes upwards to 10-15 hours for each video. It is just not realistic for someone small like me to do that more than it is necessary. I appreciate the support and constructive criticism, but my KZbin channel is meant to primarily function as an archive for all my works dating right back to the beginning. Twitch is where I "produce the work itself".
