This week my husband hit 50 days on Milrinone infusion. He has spent 20 days in hospital. He is now in class 4 kidney failure. He had an NSTEMI at a local hospital, but they refused to accept him and sent him by ambulance to the Hospital that put him on Milrinone. His heart is getting worse, his lungs are worse, and his kidneys failed…all that for 14k a month…wow. I asked his infusion nurse when the quality of life part kicks in…pissed her off. That was the day his kidneys failed-she told him his blood test was messed up, happens all the time. That day, at home, his egfr, kidney function, dropped from 16% to 13%…and he still welcomes that filthy piece into my home. All Drs reports show that wife has been spoken to, talked to…I want to find that wife-she can come take care of this mess-I was lied to and told he was being evaluated for permenant disability. What a surprise. Last thought-when you are dying, stop trying to find a cure. Just die I CANT WAIT UNTIL THESE HEART DRS TAKE THEIR OWN DAMNED MEDICINE….OR WATCH IT FED TO THEIR FAMILY MEMBER. He loves his Milrinone…not sure what part of bowel impaction, no pee for 36 hours, heart racing and thumping when he tries to sleep he finds so much better. As his spouse, I now hate Him for lying and sneaking out of town to have this done to him. Hospice won’t touch him and that ghastly palliative care doesn’t send anyone to help me. We have to buy all supplies, just the waterproof cover for his port is over $100 a month. He Begged for 40 days for home oxygen. Once you are on inotropes, you are OWNED by your Cardiologist. They told my husband their job was the heart…if they took out his kidneys, he could do dialysis. And they proceeded to put him into class 4 kidney failure. They pushed him into Cardiorenal Syndrome. Drs need to know when it’s Time to stop. There is no compassion in this. We have no retirement, about enough in savings to keep me going until social security survivors benefit can be started. We own a 1974 mobile home in a senior park. I feel victimized by this nightmare of a drug-and no one cares.

I think we can blame humans for our lack of empathy.
