A genius ahead of your time!

I suppose this technique is OK, but who normally carries around an index card, and by the time you have put it all together, you've got quite a bit of product involved... index card, tape, tissue, etc. If I was to use a make-it-yourself product, I (as an ostomate myself) would save the rings from toilet paper rolls before purchasing index cards. Although this may be an inexpensive "trick", but it's not near as refined as today's products like the capture cartidge

This is a great idea! Even if you dont seat the wafer with the cardboard tube - using the tube to keep the output off the peristomal skin is such a handy trick! Thanks

Don't mean to be rude but that seems like a lot of work and all stomas are not completely round. I would also be worried about paper cuts!
