Was there in Sep/Oct 2024 and that lagoon was full to capacity - more water than I have seen in 30 plus years. Used to get a lot of bream there on shrimp and pretty fish.

Interesting mate, it was open to the ocean at that stage then I’m guessing?

@@youngfilms157 According my parents who live about 4 mins up the road, they had had a huge amount of rain which had filled it up to the max while still closed. That lagoon doesn't open too often - only in very rough seas and when they decide to dig it out. As a kid, we used to swim either side of the bridge.

I didn’t think it opened up often that’s why I was very surprised to catch a few salmon. I reckon they have been in there for a while

@@youngfilms157 Yeah. My thoughts too - a lot of feed in there for them. Used to rich shrimp beds in that corner where you started off. We used to also net a type of pretty fish in there which had a bright red horizontal band - they were a gun bait!

Cast - needs to give diameter of their braid on the x8 - they do on x12 ! This is where sunline ( japanes) give anglers the info..I use castaway sunline a fantastic line 10 lb ( 0.6 diam ) 12 lb ( 0.8 ) incredible!
