I really want to know where Ben goes to in his head when he plays certain songs, this being one of them. There’s a certain vibe that he gives off, right? It’s like when you stand in the shallows, wade out a bit more and glimpse at the depth that’s ahead of you. He gives those glances sometimes…. There’s an ocean underneath those looks!

I always thought Ben had done enough to differentiate himself on guitar from John Martyn in-spite of his self-proclaimed and obvious inspiration from the artist, so I am ever more thankful that he deviated as far as he did, probably somewhat driven by that oft-drawn comparison to his earlier work.

Wasn’t really that keen on anyone messing with “my song” but I take my hat off to Ben. I think the reason it’s ok is that I can tell he gets it, and that he loves the song too.
