It is sobering to note that five days after this joyful performance, Trump was elected to his first term. But on that Thursday night there was joy in Chicago and really throughout America. Eight years later, last night, my niece saw Hamilton performed in Seattle. The new Democratic governor of Washington state was invited by the Hamilton production to give a short speech on the importance of saving democracy. I don't think they will be inviting Kash Patel to give a speech at a Hamilton performance anytime soon. Hey America, what do you say. The Hamilton crew stood up for democracy today. They're singing Go Hamilton Go. . . .

Was privileged to see it in preview Sat. Nov. 30. She was electrifying and she made Rose her own. I loved Tyne Daly, Bernadette Peters, and Patty LuPone's. This was a straightforward and traditional production. However Audra brought a different take on Rose than what is "traditional." Her vocals and acting we're incredible - reminiscent of Pearl Bailey doing " Hello Dolly " vibe . It was fresh. The show stopping ovation for this number was at least 5 minutes.
