No wonder they say that sweden can developed nukes in a matter of 3-6 month today. But it will never happen..And when you think about it I guess most western countries actually can if they wanted to

This just makes it even more curious why the CIA assassinated Olof Palme. Were Palme secretly developing nuclear weapons? Oh shit, we tested bombs?! Well shit.
@HistoricWings
@HistoricWings 7 күн бұрын
Palme was the father of the Swedish bomb; it was well-understood. Why blame the CIA for Palme's assassination? Because it encourages anti-US sentiment. Those kinds of claims that the CIA assassinated Palme, in my opinion, are both unfounded and absurd on their face. Most likely, they're little more than Soviet propaganda, yet it continues to be a seductive topic for Swedes. It would be far more likely that the KGB assassinated Palme than the CIA.

Western european countries will never take the russian threat seriously because they think they are safe by distance and they never been under russian controll so they can't understand. SO the european countries that have a border with Russia need to make their own alliance and mass produce their own weapons including nukes. if underdeveloped countries North Korea and South Africa made their own nukes decades ago, without having any prior civilian nuclear experience, how fast can japan, South Korea, and european countries that have had civilian nuclear power reactors for 50+ years, especially now that russian tv all day every day threatens EU with nuclear strikes
@HistoricWings

We often talk about the breakout time from current status to nuclear weapons armed -- for Iran, that's measured in weeks. For countries like Japan, South Korea, and other European nations, it is probably measured in months.

You will see many comments here and elsewhere that the Marviken (R4) facility was a failure and therefore never started. The truth is that it was an entirely political decision. The politicians blamed the technology, to take the focus off the fact that they themselves wasted billions unnecessarily. Also, don't forget that the US kept wanting us to build more fighter jets, instead of reinventing the wheel…

I stopped watching after 7 minutes. This video is full of missinformation, conspiracy theories and made up material. Sweden never had a singular nuclear bomb. There was a program, and there was a test with massive amounts of conventional explosives as a case study of how to see how blast vaves works. That is it. The Viggen was not designed to cary a nuclear bomb. The SAAB 36 Vargen was however a bomber that was supposed to deliver Swedish nuclear bombs, but it never left the idea stage. sv.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saab_36
@HistoricWings

The A 36 was never developed to a flying prototype stage. Considerable design work was done, however. The SAAB 37 Viggen was designed to be nuclear capable.

@HistoricWings

@HistoricWings
@HistoricWings Ай бұрын
Arguably, the world is safer with fewer nuclear-capable countries -- it isn't a desire to flex nuclear muscle on the part of the UK, French, USA, or Israel, it is the desire to ensure that all adversaries fully understand and appreciate that there is no victory in a war against them. One could argue, for instance, that Israel has avoided repetitions of the "wars of national survival" that had come before it had nuclear weapons. Once their program had proved the technology, none of the surrounding Arab states was willing to start a major war.
@simtexa
@simtexa Ай бұрын
@@HistoricWings If they want to reduce the amount of nuclear weapons they should get rid of their own. It's the equivalent of a big scary guy with four different automatic guns, eight pistols and a literal grenade launcher telling you you really shouldn't own a pistol, while he is holding a fully loaded AR with the safety off. Then he says you can "compromise", and in exchange for throwing away one of his 3 Glocks, you must swear to never own any weapons whatsoever. Sure, maybe it's arguable better if fewer people had weapons either way, but it's still extremely hypocritical for any nuclear armed country to argue against nuclear weapons without getting rid of their own.

He said it was the most dangerous thing he have done in his entire lif(according to my father). The problem they used ether somewhere in the process.
