Don't see many of those in the Uk. What was the single cylinder machine thumping away in the background? Guessing it was an IH Mogul.

That's a rare tractor indeed. To have a 3 point linkage. I've seen a very few Series 3 and 3A Field Marshalls with the 3 point linkage fitted, but never to one as early as this one. I'm guessing this particular example comes from the Crawford collection in Frithville, Lincolnshire?

@09amusement13 күн бұрын
@IncredibleClassicTractors Vehicle. Agricultural. Kerosene. This was David Brown's code for P/P powered tractors. D being for diesel powered machines. 25D upto the 6 cylinder 50D. Also right from the start of engine block manufacturing, The blocks were cast strong enough to withstand the coming of the diesel engine in later years. This is why it is unusual to find a David Brown with cracked blocks.

I had a brand new Ursus 1224 on an "H" plate when working on a farm. The same spec as the model you feature. Bit rough and ready but a really good lugger of a tractor. 120hp non turbo six cylinder, low revving, very high torque out put. Engines were a sweet as a nut, just wouldn't give in. Gears were best selected using the floating technique once on the move. This would out pull an IH 1056 six cylinder turbo.

The Twin City brand was the fore runner of Minneapolis Moline. This was certainly an import from the States for preservation. To the best of my humble knowledge Twin City tractors weren't imported back in the day. Minneapolis Moline machines were brought over under lease lend though. Be good to hear it running. Where did you find this example Dave?

Why does it say 78 on the side... what does it reference
@markrichardson1455Ай бұрын
The 78 depicts the horse power, it was something IH at Doncaster and Bradford did in the seventies on the world wide series. The 574 had 68, the 474 had 62 and so on, a novelty back in the day.
