I’m struggling. I used to be super high contrast with very dark hair and very light skin. I had to wear clear, bright colors just to balance everything. With my gray hair, I’ve noticed that my skin has a yellow overtone. I’m now probably soft and medium (hazel eyes but dark eyebrows). I seem not to be able to wear very cool colors or very warm colors. I seem to do best in the middle. I’ve recently become aware that I’m probably olive (very slight but the tone is there.) I would like to choose a side so that my wardrobe matches. I’m thinking I might do best with Soft Autumn as the peachy-pink blush color is my best.

I might be a fair olive and moss olive is one of my best colors! But I’m also warm…verified as True Spring by Carol Brailey. She didn’t say anything about having green undertone but I find yellow/orange is pretty awful on me.

I have a question... Can you wear both from bright/cool/deep and soft/cool/deep? What would the differientiating factor be to be one vs. the other? I'm confused (again) lol, I wear all winter colors. Summer is not bright or deep enough. I've been typed as Cold Clear Winter, (ColorBreeze) another analysis saying Cold Deep Winter, (ColorBreeze) and one True Winter (SciArt). In my irl and digital drapings I get all catagories BW, CW, TW, DW. Never ends tbh lol. I guess my confusion is the folks that say with you have "ishy" traits (mine are grayish) to stay away from bright yellow and high chroma brights overall. However, but my drapings proved all BW colors like lemon yellow and bright neon colors looked wonderful. Jewel tones too. And so do really deep colors. I'm bright, cool, deep at face value just looking at me. But my eyes and hair I guess are neutral cool gray or neutral cool brown/black. Is that the distinction that ability to handle high chroma, and if not, would you go to the soft/cool/deep in your system? I thought that was the difference between a CW and a TW is can you go up really high or deep and if not, soft would be more likely? I'm cool olive and go between intense paleness and intense deep tan too. Thnx Jen!

Oh! This explains why I can't wear solid pastels, but pastel patterns like a micro gingham or minor houndstooth look good on me. They have just enough white added to soften it, while still maintaining the brightness. Thank you for this video.

Personally I think cool undertones rock the color gray much better than warm undertones, warm gray is such a dingy muddy ugly gray.

Jen, I was trained with Color Me Beautiful and worked as a consultant for a long time. Your video is very confusing for one thing. Yoh have hazel like eyes, and we consider that along with your skin and hair color. First of all you do not suit the color you have died for your hair. You are an autumn person and your top is good on you, your hair and hair style do not suit you at all. Stop your video, much too confusing.

This might be the first time I've ever vehemently disagreed with a color analyst. I looked at all the colors shown at the start and the soft colors really cleared up all her imperfections, especially soft and cool. She lost the shadows under her eyes and near her mouth. She can handle deep colors but anything bright, especially warm pulls all the yellow out of her skin and makes her look sallow. I actually think this lady is a cool, soft and deep- a true Dark Winter. That dark navy top and soft violet bra strap suited her very well.

I’m awaiting my results, and I think I’m a SWM (light brown hair, green/brown hazel eyes, and peachy skin). I look good in teals and aquas, but sometimes in regular blue if it has a bit of depth to it.

Soft, Warm and Medium is definitely me-thanks for this! I’m glad to have some blues and more purple/lilac choices than the Autumn season palette from seasonal CA allows.

I have blue-gray eyes, light skin that looks a bit pinkish, freckles, and gray hair that seems to have a yellowish cast to it. I had reddish-brown hair when I was younger. I do not look good in pastels or soft colors-I wear mostly black because it is a safe color. I've never been able to find a lipstick that looks good on me, so I have pale lips-everyone always told me, "You should wear lipstick."

I look horrible in anything "dusty" or pastel...they make me look sick and dull and of course I avoid beige, mustards, browns, oranges and warm greens... That's why I can't find any "NEUTRALS" for me and nothing "autumn" to wear! I stick to white, cherry-red like blue-toned reds and not too bright nor too dark, fucschia (like my prof pic), black, icy pink/purple/lemon yellow and royal blue. That's it :((( very limited palette.

I have the same colors except I have dark brown brows that make a major difference. I can't decide if I should keep coloring my hair or go gray because most of it is gray now.

My son is a bright winter. He has dark brown eyes, dark brown hair, and bright light skin. His contrast is very high, there is nothing soften by autumn in his coloring. I think it more so depends on your brightness. His humongous eyes have a lot of contrast because his pupils are so dark but the whites of his eyes ( being so visible ) create another element of high contrast. His is not completely cool and cool winter colors actually seem pretty blah like they are missing something ( brightness ) and can’t really handle too many of the dark winter colors without looking a bit drained ( they are too dark ) that said he can wear Bright Spring colors pretty well which confirms his Bright Winter type. Hopefully that helps someone.

And If I have cool skin tone, but my hair are divided in 2 color( natural) dark brown on top roots and light brown on the bottom ( light bronze) And brown eyes with touches of green Lips are rosie light but sometimes more dark ( it changes )

Very helpful. I feel like from all the research I have done. For my skin type (yellow/olive) but truly a cool tone. It is not all black and white as with other people. I HAVE to wear warm/neutral undertone, I def cannot wear cool makeup. But I look better in cool tones. Not textbook, but it is what it is
